I was wondering if they would attend BritSciFi?

pna
I attended on the Saturday with my 10 year old son and we both enjoyed ourselves - his comment was it was 'awesome', so I'd like to thank the organisers very much - thinking back on the event now I can see how much effort and planning must have gone into it, and actually I think the basic event (without paying for autographs and photos) was excellent value for money. There was a bit of something for everyone and I would have liked to split myself into 4 to get to all the sessions and meet all the guests in the one day.

As to the B7 Q&A 'incident' - I was sitting just behind the chap who was accused and can say that what upset the guest initially was the focus light on some of the other people's cameras was blinding and distracting her, and a conversation I overheard after the session indicates the guest thought it should be made clear that photography was not allowed. That aside I found the B7 Q&A session very entertaining, as did my son, and we laughed a lot.

Hi pna. Nice to meet you on Saturday.

Like you I had a wonderful time.

I thought the day was really excellent value for money, and even if you didn't want to spend on autographs and photo shoots you still had the chance to meet your heroes, informally for a chat if you hung around for a while, or from further afar in the q&a sessions.

I had a big silly grin on my face the whole day, even when I was supposed to be striking a moody Avon pose with a Scorpio gun in Avon's waistcoat.

Update: I have now been sent a better picture than the previous. Unfortunately, it's not very flattering of Brian because this time HE has his eyes closed, but I wouldn't feel embarrassed about sharing it like I did the other one. I would like to add my thanks of the others to the organisers and agree the entrance fee minus the optional extras was very reasonable! I would definitely consider going again next year. Thanks!

And what about the 2nd generation of B7 actors?

Anthony Howell has been to at least one Big Finish Day - number 3 if I recall correctly.

Number 4, actually - the most recent one in Slough. He and Julian Wadham were there promoting The Avengers, but I chatted to him about B7 - and to Julian Wadham about Minister of Chance!

I didn't go to Slough, I listened to Mr Howell on an interview panel at the previous one in Barking.
Reversing the polarity of the neutron flow. I bet that means something. It sounds great.

I LOVED the flea circus!

I am now looking out for Michael Bentine's Potty Time on DVD.....as if I haven't got enough to do already!!!
And after Mat's comments about Quatermass and the Pit BBC Style, I'm going to watch that! He said it was even more scary than the Hammer version! (With our lovely Gareth in it!)
Even my Hubby enjoyed sitting in on Mat's talk...the hour just flew by.

Lovely photos, and nice to see the Blake's 7 family all gathered together.

Aaaaargh!! So that's what you all look like! Angry

Seriously, a great photo that speaks of happy times for all and lovely to see so many together. Any chance of a quick ID for each? (I think I can work out Mat Irvine and Orac but it would be good to get a shout about the rest)

Well muggins here is the one wearing the Avon T-shirt; RB is holding Orac (and very manfully, too. This picture lark took quite some time!!!!) PC (Purple Cleric) is on your right wearing a purple scarf; Meegat is standing to the left (your left) of RB, then Clareblues, Pam47.At the back is Annagrant, behind me is tt, then Meegat's friend. Between me and PC is PCMinor with his bemused friend in front of him, then Mat, then Gary (our own keeper of the costumes) and then Andy, (our own model of said costumes). There is another pic with more people in it, I can put that up and they can ID themselves.

Thanks, littlesue, for the marvelous photos. I really was looking forward to the 'group' Horizon photo and I was not disappointed. Also loved the one with you and Mr. D. Is there anything better than that! -Paula

Apart from my Hubby, Clanger was taking a timed photo or 2 (which was amusing as he ran to the group and we counted down!) and so was Mat Irvine. The looks on the faces of the people who were standing behind our very own David Baileys were priceless. They couldn't figure out what was going on!!!

Lovely group photo. It is good to be able to put faces with names. I am looking forward to meeting people in person in April. I won't be hard to find, just listen for the American accent.Grin
