Thanks everyone for the party?

How about same time, same place next week for Cygnus Alpha?

Go for it, GC. It's a very good book - very considered. You won't agree with all of it but has lots of good info and opinion.

Also, it's just been re-released so it's actually available for a reasonable price.

I've heard about the Gan stuff.

Anyway all this was fun, though a little scary when I was "banned" glad to watch Space Fall with you all and I'll see you next week for Brian Blessed are the Cheese Makers

My posts are appearing out of order - See page 5 #92 and page 8 #156 for warnings about 'bannings'!

That's interesting. I don't know what you definition of 'banned' is but heaps of my messages didn't 'take'. I typed them, clicked Post Reply and waited but found my post didn't appear. Is this what you are referring to? I found it very frustrating but assuming it was just me.

The posts not taking is a server issue; mine took a few attempts to post quite often too. A seperate but related server issue is post timing, where incorrect times are attributed to posts; hence why they appear out of sequence on the thread (this also applies to login/out times as you will sometimes see that you allegedly logged off the site five minutes before you posted). When the site gives your new post the same time as another post that you have already made, it concludes that you must be an automated spam-bot to be sending two post messages at the same time (even though in reality you're not, its only the time the site puts on the posts which is the same). This results in your account being suspended pending review by site admin. This has happened to lots of us during rewatches, so its nothing to much to worry about as long as a friendly Admin is around to reinstate you.

Reversing the polarity of the neutron flow. I bet that means something. It sounds great.

That happened to me, too. I'd hit Post and suddenly be outside the thread, looking at the subforum listing.

It's not just you! But banned does mean BANNED - the site thinks you are an evil spambot and disallows you access - you can't log on, post or doing anything apart from lurking until an Admin reinstates you. I know it's frustrating, but the security is there for everybody's benefit (not least mine - on the old site I used to have to delete up to 200 spambots per day!).

It seems much more accepting of redheaded pirate ladies with cybernetic eye implants.

Arrgh, I ain't no spambot, me laddie!

Joking aside, my posts are as subject to appearing out of order as anybody elses, but I haven't been banned yet. That would be embarrassing, as I would be unable to reinstate myself...

I'm glad it's not just me who thinks so. He was rather overshadowed by only having two stories, and by his predecessor and post-decessor who became so iconic to the role in their respective decades. But I liked Dalton and thought he made a good Bond.

I quite like Mr Dalton's take on the character of Bond...and after Roger Moore; well anyone would do better in my book.
Mr Dalton brought back the Bond that was in Flemings books....and for me, next week's Bond is the most violent one, I think, ever made. And It's going out late Sunday afternoon!
The one thing that stayed in my mind with Living Daylights was poor old Saunders getting caught in that sliding door!
I'm vary wary of those things now...and I hate railway lines, because in all the TV shows I have ever seen, once the baddie got on a railway line, his foot always got caught in the points and he got hit by the 4.10 from Paddington!!!
Same with a white Mark one jag......keep well clear of them, they ALWAYS go off a cliff into a quarry at some point.
The first Bond film I ever saw at the Cinema was OHMSS with poor maligned George Lazenby... I lost count of the number of times I went to see that; I even went and brought the Soundtrack on an LP with my saturday job wages. I love that film!!
Cold.....you don't know the meaning of cold.
