Interesting for those of us who discovered the show when it was already part of cult tv history, how far into the series viewers were in 1978 before seeing the Liberator; when you consider how central it is to the series format, viewers in 1978 must have had to completely change their understanding of what the show was going to be like or about at the end of this episode.
Reversing the polarity of the neutron flow. I bet that means something. It sounds great.

I always forget how jam packed this episode is. It feels like a mini movie and sets up much of whats to come so well.

I found that bit quite nasty first time round

It's nasty every time. B7 is quite brutal sometimes.

I don't know I must have been a tough kid or something - nothing in Blake's Seven ever affected me negatively. Strangely I was never upset by Dr Who either - although I know some people who were so traumatised by the Daleks or Cybermen they are still not over it

Well, I knew it was coming because of that double page spread in the Radio Times, but the first shot of the Libby still knocked my socks off.

This is very atmospheric! The conversation being witnessed only from Leylan's viewpoint, over the communicators.

BLAKE: With a ship like this and a full crew, then we can start fighting back.
AVON: Couldn't we just rob a bank?
