Well that was interesting on Friday night!
Trial...of the new/modified/different Travis and Blake wandering around a man eating...err person eating planet with a very strange creature called Zil, but it all worked out in the end. Good old Uncle Chris, once more behind the typewriter, created a pretty strange episode.
Anyway, tonight it is Killer and according to Forces TV...On the planet Fosforan Avon tries to persuade acquire a vital component in the latest Federation Cypher machine. Not too sure what that means, but we shall see...

Oh I like Killer. Especially like looking out for the man with the limp...I wish so much that it is Dev Tarrant finally getting his comeuppance.

Agreed. Great episode.

Just been thinking about it again. Blake and the crew go to Fosforon to get the thingumabob, the SF equivalent of a macguffin. Their arrival is timed accidentally to coincide with the other arrival: an alien dirty bomb...it just seems to sum up the efforts of Blake and co in the big scheme of things: their presence makes not a ha'pporth of difference for the better, for the greater good...Dontcha just love B7? Grin

...And furthermore, Blake has just said of the alien ship "I don't like mysteries". Avon said almost the same thing in Mission to Destiny.

...and further furthermore, Blake says he won't take the responsibility for the billions who would die if the plague escaped the planet. Calling Star One, calling Star One...
Ok. I am done. Grin
I told you I liked this episode.

There are a great many parallels between Blake's actions in S2 and Avon's actions in late S3 to the final episode.

I don't think that was in any way a coincidence.

Well last night Uncle Terry and Uncle Chris had a rest and a new chappie got behind the typewriter...Robert Holmes.

And...well...it was a fab story. Avon and Vila sneaking about. Avon meeting an old friend called Tynus played by Ronald Lacey and all sorts of double crosses going on and some briliant dialogue between Avon and Vila.
Then we had Blake going all historical on us with Dr Belfriar played by the lovely Paul Daneman and we also met another very nice Federation employee (Gambrill) who was worried about his pension!
Apart from that rather nice computer expert wearing that nice dark blue leather top we had Michelin Men!!!
What more could you want??
Tonight it is Hostage..Although himself an outlaw from the Federation, Travis is still determined to kill Blake.
Again!!!
Watch tonight to see just who the Hostage is!!!

Sue, I always thought Robert Holmes had the best handle on the Avon-Vila relationship. It wasn't just that Avon needed Vila at times and the same with Vila, it was certainly a contentious relationship but at times you saw a true sort of friendship of course, not taking into account what happened on the Orbit shuttle! Really great writer, that Holmes guy was.
Zil: Oneness must resist the Host.

Well last night's episode, Hostage, saw a new kid on the....typewriter. A chap called Allan Prior.
It actually started off quite well with the Libby being chased by quite a few Fed Ships and a new Space Commander...but he didn't last long. Servie saw to that.
Methinks that the chaps on B7 not only like Westerns but also War films.
I've been watching some of the films on Great Action movies and there is definitely a connection there.
Anyway, after all that excitement it turns out that the different/modified Travis has taken Blake's cousin Inga Hostage and we meet come Crimos...and polystyrene rocks and Betchworth never looked lovelier what with all that Buddleia (?) in full bloom.
Jenna was not impressed with Blake at all after she saw him kissing his cousin!!!
Anyway, tonight it is Countdown in which...An entire world is under sentence of death unless Blake and the rest of his crew can save it.
So I take it it isn't THAT Countdown..and I wonder if there will be another fab guest star? Maybe a certain lady on this forum named Paula will know Grin

Well last night Uncle Terry was back behind the typewriter with the episode Countdown and what an episode.
An opening sequence of explosions and punch ups and stunt men...err Federation guards flying across the screen.
Yes the good citizens of Albion are fighting back with the aid of a mercenary whom Paula has no idea about.
And Blake just happened to be passing as he wanted to have a word with Major Provine about where The Federation have hidden their Central Control.
But there was another plot line and this involved that rather nice computer expert and that mercenary about whom Paula has no knowledge.
This chap's name is Del Grant and he is not happy about a lady called Anna. He has threatened to kill Avon because he reckon's he was responsible for her death.
So we have met Tynus a few episodes ago who was in a fraud with Avon and now we know about this Anna. Was she in on this fraud as well???
Meanwhile...a bomb has been activated and our heroes have to defuse it.
Exciting stuff and Avon and that Grant chap manage it...just...with the aid of a black and decker drill.
So where is this computer now? Provine managed to tell Blake it was now called Star One and only Docholli knows where it is...then popped his clogs.
Avon and Grant made friends...
But who is this Anna? It's Grant's sister and she is dead. But at least Grant doesn't blame Avon anymore. But does Avon still feel responsible? We will see...

So what delight awaits us tonight on Forces TV?
It's Voice from the Past in which....A mysterious telepathic signal plunges Blake back into the nightmare of his torture and trial.
This sounds good...doesn't it???Grin

Voice from the Post is awful with the exception of a few good Avon lines, particularly his interactions with Orac. The scenes in the old Wembley Conference Centre when Servalan's face appears in close up is very reminiscent of 1984. "Big Brother is watching you."

Well last night was Voice from the Past written by a chap called Roger Parkes...
High points were the model sequences of the Libby and the Atlay Shuttle (a landing that reminded me of 2001) oh yes, and the black flowing shirt worn by a certain rather nice computer expert.
But apart from Avon's obvious concern for Blake...ummmmmm
Anyway, tonight it is Gambit in which....The search for Docholli - the man with the secret of Star One - brings Blake to Freedom City.
I wonder if that is anything like Space City? We shall see at 9pm tonight.

Well, Friday night's episode was an absolute delight in storyline and costume! Obviously, someone decided to raid the BBC's wardrobe!
And Mr Robert Holmes once more got in front of the typewriter and delivered a brilliant Avon and Vila plot line. We now know that Avon is partial to ice cream, or is it sorbet?
The only thing that marred it for me, was some very strange editing with regards to Travis..one moment in the bar and then in that car park...err the concourse outside the Big Wheel...or was it The Rink?
I wonder what a newbie, encountering B7 for the first time, would have thought about it?
The announcer on Forces TV said that he had been asked why B7 ran to just over 1 hour and a bit?
His reply was it was because of the adverts (3 breaks in all) but unlike other channels...we DON'T chop up and cut out bits of the episode. I wonder if he was referring to ITV4 and Talking Pictures who have taken a hatchet to episodes of The Champions.....
Anyway, tonight on Forces TV it's The Keeper in which...One of the tribal chiefs on the planet Goth, unknowingly holds the secret of Star One.
Are we getting closer to the secret? Find out tonight at 9pm.

Lat night it was The Keeper and Uncle Allan was let loose. We had lots of tents, underground, lots of big hairy chaps with big loud voices, Vila doing tricks (a la David Nixon...yes, I'm that old!!!!) and a good old punch up. And I don't mean Avon and Cally having a bit of a tiff.
But they found out the location of Star One.
So tonight, it is Star One in which...Blake's search for Star One, the secret Federation Control Centre, takes him to the edge of the Galaxy.
Will his search be successful? Find out tonight at 9pm.

Oh crumbs..last night, what a humdinger of an episode by Uncle Chris.
Space battles, aliens turning into...yucky stuff, Travis going down a well of some sort and Blake telling Avon that he has always trusted him, right from the very beginning!!
And then the Libby going into battle against what looks to be the BBC's canteen cutlery drawer.
What a cliff hanger...what is going to happen?
...well, we don't have to wait long as Episode 1 of the 3rd series is on tonight at 9pm!
The episode is Aftermath in which...In a desperate attempt to delay invading aliens, Blake has sacrificed the Liberator.
Oh no! What will happen?? Tune in tonight at 9pm!!!

Oh crumbs...Uncle Terry was back behind the typewriter last night in Aftermath.
Hubby pointed out that he had seen one particular model shot the night before...yes, I now says I, but this was shown a year later back in 1980!!!! So we weren't supposed to notice.
And we had the ship from Killer.
And Space City.
But where was Blake? Where was Jenna??
They escaped just after Avon, Cally and Vila escaped in their life capsules.
And so to the beach at Bam....err Sarran.
Poor Avon; knocked out while still on the Libby, almost crash landed on said beach and then attacked by one of Alan Lake's mob...but what's this? A young lady with a bow and arrow. Yay, she rescued that rather nice computer expert..and got rid of his headache. Tut, Tut, did her Daddy not tell her that it is rude to kiss a strange chap?
But where is Orac? Still on the beach watched over by the only 2 people not to have heard the message from the production crew...as Uncle Vere pointed out back at Teal Vandor in 1981.
And then Servie. What were the odds of that??
This series is a bit more grown up as we witness Servie try her best to chat up Avon...who admits that he doesn't have much of an imagination. Grin
And so, Orac gets the Libby to teleport Avon and the young lady called Dayna back to the ship...where did Avon get that 2nd bracelet? This is B7, don't ask.
But, oh dear, things do not look good...just who is this curly headed chap??
So tonight, it's Powerplay on Forces TV in which...As Avon and Vila fight separate battles for survival, each finds it hard to distinguish between friends and enemies...oh dear
Cold.....you don't know the meaning of cold.
Cold is when you have ice on the INSIDE of the window!!!
