That last Avon/Blake exchange is on of my faves. I remember the first time I saw this episode and those last few minutes were so tense!

Yes - I caught up with the first two series on video when I was living in Cambridge. I borrowed the first one from the city library when they didn't have the Babylon 5 video I wanted (I started that one at the beginning of series 2 and was catching up with series 1) and was absolutely blown away by the complexity, the dialogue, the characters. And it was really interesting to get to know Blake as a real character, not just someone haunting Avon's uneasy conscience.

I think my heart rate goes up for the entire episode no matter how often I watch it.

But I hate that it's over. Sob...

This was the last episode of Blakes 7 that I ever saw for the first time - I had started as a teenager with the beginning of series 3, and only watched series 1 and 2 much later. I can imagine what it must have been like to watch it not knowing, in the middle of the episode, whether Blake was dead, and especially not knowing what would happen at the end - but I never had that. So I watched it thinking 'already they have Avon taking charge' and that sort of thing.

I can imagine. The whole putting into perspective of things. I had a similar sort of experience but was a bit older. Went off with my husband to live in Cairo just a few days before the last ep of S3 was shown here in Oz in 1980 and didn't see that or S4 until much, much later. Indeed, we still thought that the last ep of S3 was going to be the last ever. Oh, what an eye-opener it all was. But it all made me love B7 even more. Did you feel the same?

Sorry. One day I will manage to rely to quotes in the right place!

Anyway, thanks for a great rewatch. See you next week.

Don't worry Anne. I'm still useless at it. Used to be able to do it then had a complete brain meltdown and find I mess it up now.

I'm glad you've caught up with the earlier series. The complexity of the characters and what motivates them is superb. Living here in Canberra, where politics surrounds us, it's always good to see something so hard-hitting in a form of drama often characterised by pure fantasy.

Thanks for the rewatch and for the opportunity to regard it through 'fresher' eyes. See you next time!
Don't philosophise at me you electronic moron!GrinFrown
