This fighting-tribe reminds me (or presages) the Hommiks. Who would win in a fight, Gunn-Sar or Gola?

I was thinking that. I wonder if they are both offshoots from the same movement? A sort of 'back to the purity of our tribal past' thing?

That's the Scandinavian colonists of the Ru's Khaganate.

Right, you're hired to write this fic! I love your theories.

I'm just looking at all the ethnographic bits and bobs and linking them. The amuletic necklaces are Indian. I could probably write something that would make sense. The role of the womenfolk would be a 'thing'.

You're not sulking, I hope?

Go for it! And the womenfolk are DEFINITELY a thing.
My views are my own.

VILA: I'm entitled to my opinion.
AVON: It is your assumption that we are entitled to it as well that is irritating.

And that she's a tough broad. She does her bit with the Amagons and I like that, but people tend to focus on other things in that ep and not on how strong Jenna is.

I have to go and make dinner. Have fun with the rest of the watch. I'll try to make it to Star One next week.

In this ep I get definite whiff of King Lear. The women are everything in THAT.

Blake: "Is Jenna alright?"
Vila: "Pair bonding with the Chief"
Blake: "Good."
Not a hint of jealousy or affection for Jenna or concern that she may be at some personal risk?

Hi everyone. I'm sorry to have missed this - I overslept (despite the 10am UK start). I'll I'll catch up with your posts now though.
Avon: "Not enough! Not nearly enough! Dammit, what weighs seventy kilos?"
Orac: "Vila weighs seventy-three kilos, Avon."
Avon: "Vila, are you here? I need your help."
