I really like the Saturday rewatch group. And 'cos there's fewer people, you get more chance to post stuff - and be listened to/replied to.

Difficult to join from a train thoughSad Especially as I’m usually doing a Tube transfer about that time. I can’t even say hello, ‘cause there’s no internet in the bowels of the Earth.

On a completely unrelated note, can someone dissuade me from buying an anorak with spaceships all over? I need yet another coat like I need a hole in the head. But, you know, spaceships…

No intention of dissuading you - sounds fab and I want one!

GO AHEAD! Dare you to wear it on the train.

And show it off on Zoom to the rest of us!
My views are my own.

AVON: It is your assumption that we are entitled to it as well that is irritating.

More context ( same set of ficlets)
" @SD: Loved the literal 'fire wall' and Mykro Zofft! I very much enjoyed your hilarious PGTM stories,"
Would that be Spaceship Despatcher?
You're not sulking, I hope?

Believe me, that would NOT be the oddest thing I have worn on a train.

Okay, I cheated. I had a look at the August ficlets. The reference was in a story by Spaceship Dispatcher:

"Pan-Genre Transition Machines of course!” said Zofft

I think I like our versions better. Especially the Gin and Tonic!

The gin and tonic one does give me a mental image of Servie with a packet of Hula Hoops.

That's not cheating, it's helping. Thanks! I must have missed seeing it when I was going through the ficlets.

Brilliant! Should ask Lurena to do an illustration Grin

I've never had a gin, with or without tonic.

Well, there was the 1940s school uniform. Or the evacuee’s outfit, complete with label and gas mask case. And I did once go to the station in Edwardian cycling garb, but I was only collecting someone, not getting on a train myself.

Don’t. It tastes like paint stripper.

I have it only very occasionally. I'm a whisky gal myself. But hubby and I have been getting into some interesting drinks purely on the basis of their names, that then turn out to be rather good. Latest are Kraken rum and Hobgoblin beer.

Are these costumes just you being you, or are you in some kind of re-enactment thingy? Or just very old and reliving it all?

Those would be great for Pretend to be a Time Traveller Day (8th December).

The evacuee outfit was just me (the policeman at Carlisle station gave me a very odd look when I was changing trains). The 1940s one was for the North York Moors Railway ‘40s weekend, but I couldn’t drive at the time so I had to go all the way there on the normal train. And the Edwardian stuff was when I was helping out at Beamish museum. I used to regularly travel in 1950s railway uniform, too, but I didn’t think that classed as odd (some fellow passengers might have disagreed).

It tastes how paint stripper smells.
