As are you by claiming: "Considering the federation's vast use of psychostrategists".

We see Carnell. And that's it.

buy we know they use them- Carnell is an "offiicial " psychostrategist and there's even a nickname for them- which implies their use was not uncommon.
the facilities were Blake was repeatedly mindwiped suggest that mind manipulation etc were also common procedures.
I have concluded that Jenna is Blake-aware, Blake is Avon-aware, Avon is self-aware and Gan is rarely aware. Vila is merely wary. Cally is frequently more away than aware.

Oh, I agree that IMO there are at least several 'puppeters'. It's just that saying the Federation's use of them is "vast" is your own Fanon, because there's no evidence of a "vast" use of puppeters.

Nothing wrong with that, everyone has their own Fanon in their head, of how they interpret the show.

I think we all do that. Every one of us. It's part of being a fan.

Me too, but only MY Fannon.

In the words of Adam Savage, "I reject your reality and substitute my own." Grin

I assume Jenna is alive and well in your Fanon, Brad Grin Grin

no, but based on what the federation is and how it acts- it does have a vast use of mind altering procedures- mindwipes, mutoids, suppressants in the water, it follows logically that psychostrategists would be used on the people too valuable or too powerful to mindwipe.

There is no actual reason to believe they wouldn't be using the psychostrategists to a vast degree, because they are using similar methods of manipulation to that degree. it's logical that they would, in order to obtain the desired outcomes.

It would be deeply illogical if they wouldn't.
This doesn't actually alter any of the logic of the canon universe, it's just a logical followup

True, but that still doesn't make it cannon. By the same token, there is no logical reason to assume that the System didn't make more than two DSV's, and that a whole fleet of them could be waiting out there.

Logical and Cannon are not the same thing. The best Fannon is based on these logical deductions, but they are still Fannon.

why wouldn't they have more? That being said, fleet ships and exploration ships are different types. Fleet ships share a lot of functionality so you'd have a lot of those small interceptors we've seen in redemption with maybe one DSV as a flagship.

A whole fleet of DSVs would create a lot of wasteful redundancy

Avon's shown to be greedy many times. Before the series he was a brilliant thief via using computers, he says "I'm sentimental about money," he and Vila win a fortune at the casino in "Gambit." But what does he spend his money on?

Maybe he's the type who just uses money as "a way of keeping score."

Money was safety. "We were going to be so rich no one could touch us..." or words to that effect, 'Us' being he and Anna.

'Wealth is the only reality,' may or may not have been Avon's personal mantra, but it was the reality of The Federation.

FORRES One law for the rich, eh Major?
GRENLEE There's no law for the rich, Forres...

Studs.

Grade Four Ignorant

And in Season D, hair products.

I guess Avon's idea of wealth is money enough to live comfortably, in security and seclusion, as far away from the Federation as possible, for the rest of his life. Horizon even suggests that he wouldn't even need people around him, and that he'd be happy alone aboard Liberator with just Orac and Zen for company.

Joe Dredd
I think that perhaps it's the thought of being entirely alone that makes him go down to Horizon for the others.

Proddy tools!
Lots of them as he has the habit of tossing and throwing them away. (and to please his female fans here)
Forgive me, I've been working too much and too hard.

Coming very late to the party....
'Many people take canon and Fanon together. This is not only dangerous but pretty amusing especially when it's so easy to prove incorrect'

Isnt it just, some people seem to think fanon the equal/equivilent of canon and take about xverse etc (get the feeling Im grinding my teeth here - you'd be right - Im fighting the urge to arm and range neutron lalsters at a few people in another fandom). I came to B7 late and it baffled me and infuriated me in equal measure - particularly the Avon loved Anna to distraction/Avon hates people/Avon is immoral fanon. Because that all any of that is.
I'd go with you 100% re Avons primsry feeling about Anna being guilt and all its manifestationss

I wonder if some of these strongly held opinions are because of the way people watched B7 - seeing an episode once when it aired and then not again for years meant that the first impression people got from a story or character was the one that stayed.
