The episode: Albert Three – Cygnus Alpha (Carry On SHOUTING) The date: Tuesday, January 19th, 2021 The time: 7.45pm UK time In which BRIAN BLESSED shouts a lot; Zen introduces himself; Gan gets a snog off Pamela Salem; and God is called Neil. Episode in a word: Religion. Character to cheer: Lord Vargas – I realise that technically he’s a baddie, but who cares? And it’s B7, so the lines between good and bad are blurred anyway. Character to boo: Blake, when he deceives Jenna and Avon. Not for the last time. Is Soolin looking lovely this week?: Yes. Recognisable Face: Pamela Salem (Kara) has been in loads of stuff – Doctor Who, EastEnders and James Bond for starters. Best line: “GORDON’S ALIVE!” Whoops, wrong show. OK, lets’s go for: BLAKE: “Handgun?” AVON: “It's a bit elaborate for a toothpick.” Blake’s will return in… Carry On Homicidal Maniac |

Dear Mum, well, I made it to Cygnus Alpha in one piece. I’ll have to wait for the next prison ship to post this letter and hope that nice Mister Artix is on it (he posted my last letter, if you got it). This planet is a bit naff. It’s dark and drafty, and run by a cult that worships a rather poorly carved bust of some bloke called…. called… what is that god’s name? What did that big, loud priest call him, oh, yes, Neil. “ Behold your god, Neil!” Yes, I stole that joke. You know I’m a thief, right? All the clergy dress like Gregorian monks. You remember I wanted to be a Gregorian monk when I was a kid, but I never got the chants. Yes, I stole that joke, too. Anyway, back to that priest. He’s big and loud and mean and a bit mad. In other words, typical clergy. He wanders around muttering to himself, insisting this one bloke is alive. I have no idea what he’s talking about. I don’t even know who Gordon is. I think he wants to take his clergy on a road trip. He keeps bellowing, "Drive, my frock men, drive!” Sorry. One day on this miserable planet and Flash Gordon jokes seem funny. I’m cracking up. That’s what it is. But don’t worry about me. Gan is here, and he’s looking out for me, and none of the other inmates will cross him. I'm still worried about that priest, though. Well, goodbye, mum. This is likely my last letter. If I can ever post it. Love, Vila. PS Would you believe it? Those three alphas (the ones that stole the space ship). They came back for me, well, me and Gan. I’m sending this letter through the ship’s computer. As for that mad priest, I can’t really explain how this ship works, let’s just say he took a long walk in a short airlock. Tonight I am watching on the big flat screen as a certain Hubby is watching the footie on the comp....but I'm not going to put the surround sound on because The Blessed would possibly shake the walls down! So it's biccies, choccies and a cuppa plus earplugs!
