trevor travis
The episode: (11.1) Brother by Nigel Fairs
The date: Monday, November 30th, 2020
The time: 7.45pm UK time

The Big Finish blurb:

Auron scientist Gustav Nyrron is back aboard the Liberator, on his way home. But Avon does not trust him, and soon a drugged Nyrron wakes to find himself in Avonís clutches on a devastated world. I'm here!

Hi Paula & TT Smile
My views are my own.

VILA: I'm entitled to my opinion.
AVON: It is your assumption that we are entitled to it as well that is irritating.

Me too! Smile
Avon: "Not enough! Not nearly enough! Dammit, what weighs seventy kilos?"
Orac: "Vila weighs seventy-three kilos, Avon."
Avon: "Vila, are you here? I need your help."

Here! And started!

I love Anthony Howell. Great voice, great actor.
Nyrron the Auron.

He one of the best and so excellent on audio. I was blown away the first time I heard him on a Big Finish disc.

Do you think Nyrron is copyright to Nigel Fairs, who created the character? Like eg Soolin is to Chris Boucher?

Hi Travisina! Hi Paula and TT.

Just made it! Another story that's started so enthralling. I'm hanging on every word... but not only can I not remember this story from when I first heard it earlier this year, I can't remember the Gustav Nyron history just now either. I must listen more carefully!
Avon: "Not enough! Not nearly enough! Dammit, what weighs seventy kilos?"
Orac: "Vila weighs seventy-three kilos, Avon."
Avon: "Vila, are you here? I need your help."

I believe so- he seems to only crop up in his stories.

Hello Clare! ( a bit late, sorry)

This story is a mystery to me, so far. But, with Avon narrating, and talking about his childhood, I shouldn't have any trouble paying attention Smile

And now I'm enthralled by Paul's narration. He's also playing Father Whatsit, isn't he?

Yes. He reminds me of one of those evangelical preachers who used to roam America doing sermons in tents.

Or in huge venues like Wembley. Billy Graham?

I can't imagine Avon falling in love. Obviously I know he did. But it's hard for me to imagine from how be behaves in the Liberator time.

With the mention of Hougers syndrome, I remember this a little now.

'Genicide' and 'decapitation' - I suspect this might not be a cheery episode that I'd been hoping for tonight, lol.

Intriguing so far!

Not sure I quite saw Avon's dad like that.
