Thanks for letting us know! I'm a fan of R4 Extra, it does have some excellent stuff in the archive.

Thank you for this.
Interesting to get an insight in Mr Boucher's writing discipline.

I listened to the first ep last night. It was fun, but hasn't aged well - two blokes complaining that a woman uses 'Ms' as her title, and don't know how to pronounce it! Was that really such a rarity in 1980?

Indeed, thank you very much. I too am a fan of Radio 4 Extra and I'm looking forward to listening to this.

I listened to the first three episodes of this today on the iPlayer and it is quite enjoyable and very much of its time. The theme music seems a curious choice. A couple of B7 actors have featured so far as John 'Lom' Hollis appears in episodes two and three and Peter Tuddenham is in episode three.

There's also a line from Deathwatch in one of the episodes.

Which line? I didn't spot it.

I find that the theme music (which is also used at the midway point - a bit like 'end of part one' ) has a bit of a 1960s/70s ITC vibe - sort of like The Avengers, The Champions, that kind of thing.

About halfway through the second episode Birdie says, "And for my next trick I'll swallow my other foot".

Also spotted in episode 2: "Paranoia is an occupational hazard in your profession". Similar to Rumours of Death.
