RIP Kate O'Mara
I've just learned of the sad passing of actress Kate O'Mara...74...after a short illness. Kate is well known to Dr Who fans for playing the Rani...though I know her best for her role in Howard's Way.

Thoughts and wishes to her family and friends at this sad time.

the wise reject what they think.

A sad loss

Rest in Peace
Very sad news. She was great as the Rani and I also loved her in Dynasty.

Further information and link to an interview recorded last November can be found on the BBC news website here: http://www.bbc.co...s-26809417

Rest in Peace.

Damn, I just arrived from a convention and this sad news was the first thing I read Sad It is sad Sad 74 is really not that big age at all. And she recently said she would love to see the return of The Rani to DW Sad

Sad news. Kate was in one of my favourite episodes of The Saint, as well as Dr Who of course.
Reversing the polarity of the neutron flow. I bet that means something. It sounds great.

I remember Kate as the Rani, and I do vagely remember Howards way. She was also responsible for killing Colin Baker, as it was her device that made the Tardis crash.

So we have lots to thank her for.

PS. Actually I quite liked Colin Baker, but don't tell anyone Wink
This is indeed a very sad loss. I was lucky enough to meet Kate at a Dr Who convention in Stockton-on-Tees some years ago. She was superb. She loved sci-fi and would have jumped at a chance to reprise here role as The Rani in new Who.
