B7 Key Characters Invitation Soccer XI
Cygnus Bazza
Having thought long and hard about this for almost 20 minutes, here's my selection for the 'big one' against Brian Blessed's B7 Guest Stars XI:

Gan: an intimidating presence effortlessly dominating the six-yard box

Dayna: combative right back not afraid to take a yellow (or red) card
Blake (captain): imperious sweeper in the Franz Beckenbauer mold
Servalan: uncompromising central defender who takes no prisoners
Travis: niggly, chippy left back especially adept at man-marking

Avon: playmaker, pulling the strings and probing the weak points
Jenna: tenacious ball-winner not afraid to leave a foot in the tackle
Cally: consummate link player and peerless reader of the game, apparently reading the minds of team-mates and opponents alike

Tarrant: centre-forward of the headless chicken variety, pulling defenders out of position but not above the odd gratuitous display of petulance
Soolin: especially adept at cutting in from the wing - and never afraid to shoot
Vila: the consummate goal poacher
LOL. Agree with most but I’d have thought Carnell would be the playmaker and Avon, probably sees himself as the manager chucking his boot at Tarrant and threatening Vila until he steals a goal.
Just because I can't sing doesn't mean I won't.

Nice work! But surely we'd earmark Orac for the manager's role? Think of the post-match interviews.
Post match interviews? Hmmm. Do we want ‘the special one’ - Avon - or Wenger (Orac)?

Certainly neither would bother to hide their disdain for the interviewer. Avon would undoubtedly get a chance to use his classic "spare me the amateur psychology" line. Can't imagine him or Orac spouting any of that old "definitely a penalty, Gary - no two ways about it" guff!

And now I want to see Avon flip a tie on Orac. Grin But how one puts a tie on Orac?
