Avon putting Tarrant into place is always fun to watch.

Avon's whole plan here is the worst idea since someone said ‘yeah let’s take this suspiciously large wooden horse into Troy, statues are all the rage this season’.

(obligatory Blackadder AND Red Dwarf reference, since all Trojans are also Smegheads)

Tarrant: You enjoyed that!

Soolin: Oh, yes I did!
Zil: Oneness must resist the Host.

A bit of a downer though, in it's persistence. Tarrant was supposed to be a foil to Avon as Avon was to Blake.

But as Steven Pacey said, a foil has to be right every now and then.

A shame that Avon is the biggest mug of all in this episode.

Soolin became that foil later in S4 (starting here), which suited me fine. Smile

Tarrant is right a few times. Terminal springs straight to mind.

Some of the ship's walls looks like they glued cafeteria trays to the wall. Clearly a step up from Gold and the turkey roasting pans!

That's true, actually. Who says the foil has to be another male?

Airline meal trays. They also used them in Gold (in addition to the roasting pans).

And the wind up spider, oops, crab. Right out of Doctor Who and the Planet of Spiders!

Oh I forgot! Avon was knocked on the head in this episode too, by those slavers. That might explain his limited intelligence in there.

It's a crab spider (google it, we had them in the back yard when I lived in Florida).

Oh dear .. that is bad for someone in a leading position. Next, he will run into a trap and get them all killed!

I think they're from Full Circle, which was made shortly before this. The spiders from Planet Of The Spiders were much bigger.
