Got to admit, I love the jokey ending. The hand shake between Max and Avon, and Tarrant and Avon making a quick retreat not wanting Del to take over as first champion! I think it works here.

This one really works. In contrast to several others, especially CoA ... shuddder.

Having watched Orbit on Saturday, I would never trust Orac Wink

I wouldn’t stand on him to reach a high shelf...Wink

This is an occasion when a jokey ending works. The whole ep is superb, and goes out on a high.

Brilliant interplay between all the characters, especially Avon and Tarrant in the end!

Great episode, and it makes me sad because it's the last one before Terminal where everything goes down the toilet for the heroes. Last glimpse of (relatively) normal Avon, anyway.

With Orac as your legal advisor, you'd probably have to stand on him to reach a higher court... (gets coat and runs)

Ohoho, if you say it like this... Yes! Another reason to love this episode. Smile

See you next week for a rather different but still brilliant episode....

I guess quite normal ... I can't do this every time. Trying to repaint my avatar as a link would be too much effort for my limited artistic talents.

Brilliant ep - one of my absolute faves. So glad I was able to join in this rewatch!

Well thanks all for another great rewatch
GARETH THOMAS: Paul is a very generous man, as a human being and as an actor. The programme couldn’t have been made if we hadn’t got on. Our working relationship was magic.

The excitement builds, just as it did all those years ago. Be seeing you.

So much fun and laughs today, gang. It will help as a diversion tomorrow when I have to endure a root canal procedure! See you all next week! 'Night.

Yup, it is a jokey ending that actually works, despite the recent death of Deeta.

That's the thing - you reminded me of something I noticed. All the "character" episodes in S3 affect their characters in a profound way, leave the mark on them - except Tarrant. For him it feels it's no consequence, and the episode is truly standalone in that sense.
But it's not the fault of the episode but of writing of Tarrant. Thanks to Tanith Lee to remember it in Sand.

Great rewatch, thank you everyone! Not sure I'll be up to watch Terminal, too sad to take on a work afternoon.
