Blake's 7 on Facebook Marketplace

Speaking of Australia, Murdoch University Library in Perth seems to have a Sci-Fi fanzine collection including Blake's 7:

I'm on the other side of Australia, so I can't get to it.

I'm on the east side of Australia, and Sydney is my closest capital city.

Oh, I've just seen on the news that you've got a horrendous heatwave. Stay safe.

Yep, it's definitely "check on your grandma" weather. Up near 40 degrees C. It's no problem though, so long as the power stays on, and the fans/aircon keeps running.

Littlesue - great idea about a museum! Those fanzines are cultural artefacts, like folklore. If old newspapers and magazines are preserved in libraries (with all the ads and nonsense and opinionated pieces no longer relevant today), then fanzines deserve it too, more so. As it's a labour of love, and yes, a folklore.

So interesting to know that there are fanzine collections in Australia too! Come on: US has it, Australia has it, UK should have it as it's the origin of the whole thing! B7 I mean. Smile

Joe Dredd: agree about digitizing. In Iowa University they allow you to scan and copy their fanzines on site. You can't check them out and take them out of the library but you can make a copy to take with you.

Not allowing to take them out would help with stealing issue - One Spare Part, I haven't thought about that but yes it's the issue.

I'm still thinking that some college libraries in UK should be interested in zines, for media study purposes at least. Some Big Finish authors are in academia I've heard...

I learned to say 'nowt' in Lancashire, I'll have you know. It caused considerable mirth amongst my workmates first time I said it - in my London accent!

Well now! StarOne has Neil Faulkner's "Kriegspielen" in it - GOOD!

Star Two has Neil Faulkner's "Hunter" in it - EVEN BETTER! (man, can that guy write superbly or what!)

Horizon 17 has "When You Look into the Abyss" which IMHO was interesting - "artsy" dark writing

Well done you, Sue!
