There's also 'The esso sign means happy motoring' which is for petrol.

I remember that! We used to sing it in the car on family outings. "The Esso sign means happy motoring, stop at the Esso sign."

That's one of them. I found that on Youtube, but the other one, 'Esso. Esso, Esso Blue...' I can't find. There's also 'The esso sign means happy motoring' which is for petrol. We used the pink paraffin to light the Valour heaters in the mornings...using long bits of folded paper lit from the gas stove!!! How we never blew up the house is beyond me.

We used the pink paraffin for hurricane lamps to take with us to the outside loo on dark nights....

Granny Dawson had the same thing for her outside loo up in Leadenham, Lincolshire back in the 50s and 60s. Oh what fun that was on a snowy night!!!

Picture the scene: late Friday night in winter. 3 siblings stay up late to watch "the friday night fantastic" introduced by peter tomlinson and his teddy = it was usually a hammer film. After the horror ended we used to fight NOT to be the last one going out to the loo and then switching the bedroom light off!

Huh, I can watch this episode after all. I'll try to keep my derision to a minimum and just enjoy the silliness (or rather stupidity - ok, that's enough of hate Smile ).

Rather nice computer expert gets shelved too early and stays shelved for too long, but he does have a nice couple of seconds in this episode. Smile

Well now, we will just have to press the pause button...won't weGrin

LittleSue - I seem to remember that Esso Blue advert from my dim and distant childhood. Did it go "Boom-boom-boom-boom, Esso Blue" ?

That is the ad I remember too. Plus: *sings*
" they asked me how I knew it was esso blue, I of course replied smoke gets in your eyes...". Sad that my head is full of stuff like this...Grin

The useless stuff always sticks. I can quote song lyrics by the mile, but where did I put my keys Sad

I'm never sure about Avon in brown... it was always Blake's colours - maybe he's trying to be more of a leader??

Moan away! It'll make you feel better!

OK I will. Smile Probably won't be able to stop myself anyway.

For example: did the author of this epi even read any of 3rd season? Like Sarcophagus where Avon is the cautious one and everybody else are like "Yay! Let's go to the unknown space thingie!"
This time it's exactly the opposite, with no explanation on why.

Also, the plot is a rehash of Redemption. So the author probably read that one.
