Wasn't there a Robin Hood series which had Uma Thurman as Marian? If so, that is the one Brad likes best. Although he likes Judy Trott quite well. -P

Robin Hood (1991 Film)

Something that's especially good about RoS is the medieval villages, although they did have lots of practice with Arthur of the Britons before it...

True, but we also have higher expectations because of the medical advances.

He was excellent in Dr Who: The Time Warrior as Hal the Archer, one of Mum's favourite Dr Who characters...

Did you see Ray Winstone in the BBC adaptation of Great Expectations a couple of years ago? A friend recommended it to me and, although I didn't rate the production all that highly, Ray was very good in it...

I seemed to have missed that one. Must check that out. I did find a production of Sweeny Todd with him in it and bought the dvd. Have yet to watch it. Saw him as Henry VIII and he was very good. -P

He's not in GE much, so you've not really missed too much. The two leads, Douglas Booth and Vanessa Kirby, while good actors are badly miscast imo. Harry Lloyd and Perdita Weeks play Herbert and Clara and are equally miscast but would have been perfect as Pip and Estelle! Very odd.

Now you explain it, I may have seen that production. Can't remember much as I watch so much and my brain can only hold so much information.... -P

The confronation between Marian and the Sheriff is a real highlight, with a good range of expressions from Judi, and a point where I felt that the character became a strong lead in her own right rather than the token female.

I prefer Robert to Robin partly because of scenes like this with the Sheriff, as he demonstrates multiple aspects to his personality in being able to socialise with both rich and poor while balancing his own goals and motivations.
