I'll be missing this one for the last time (final Japanese lesson before the exams - seriously, I can't wait to get this 3-year course over and done with). Shame, really, because it's a killer (pardon the pun) episode, featuring a good plot, a solid double-act in the form of everyone's favourite arrogant Alpha and deferential Delta (and some fan service from the proto-Samus Aran - seriously, Jenna looks less like a smuggler/kick-bottom heroine in this season and more like a fashion model) and a great supporting cast.

I have mixed feelings about this episode. It was filmed at Oldbury Power Station so I always like to see those bits. But the science is a bit naff. So I will probably pop in but not post to avoid offence!!

I love this episode, dodgy science and all.
What with Paul Daneman; (who keeps popping up in all sorts of films and mini series on Talking Pictures).
And of course Ronald Lacey (who also keeps popping up in the aforesaid TV Channel's offerings. Very good in Gideon's Way).
Then trying to spot the scene where a slightly merry Mr Thomas has to get through his dialogue (due to him thinking they'd finished filming his bit for the day and went off to Mr Tuddenham's 'room' behind Zen to partake of one of the bottles kept in a crate back there!)
With regards to Mr Lacey....how he and Mr D try not to burst out laughing during their exchange of dialogue. Such professionals......Grin

I also like this episode (I have re-watched the series in the past 2 months after years without seeing any of them.)

Ronald Lacey had a massively wide ranging career and popped up all over the place in programs that I liked. I was flicking through channels a couple of years ago, and saw an old episode of Blackadder with the "Baby Eating Bishop of Bath and Wells."

I thought "Who IS that? I've never seen him again." I discovered on imdb that it was Mr Lacey but I didn't recognise him under all the padding and make-up. From Porridge to Last Of The Summer wine, he gets everywhere.

I have often wondered when watching some SF and episodes of B7 like this whether scientists can suspend belief. Go on Lorna be savage! Grin

He was in the pilot episode of my fave TV series as a kid - Randall & Hopkirk Deceased. His character is called simply 'Beatnik' - oh, so 1960s!

Thanks Lorna for reminding us some of this episode was filmed at Oldbury. I remember when we walked around the place that you pointed out various spots where the scenes were filmed. I have always liked Killer mainly for the guest actors, Paul Daneman and Ronald Lacey- both masters at their craft.

I am trying a new drink while I am watching. It is fizzy rhubarb and apple. So far very nice. Not too sweet!

Tiny muted Youtube will do for me today. Will try to participate as much as I can, as I love this episode!

This basically sums up the episode for me. Smile This trio was fantastic in their interplay.

Avon is at his most visceral here, like in Spacefall. Vila cuts the tension and is insightful. The whole life-death-animal instincts and fears theme is mental. The plot with the plague is gripping. One of my favorite episodes from Season 2.

I have not watched along with an episode of Blakes 7 here before. When I was a student we would watch one on a Sunday morning. It is an interesting feeling.

I have the DVD in and confess to thinking of opening a bottle of red wine and having a glass. Although I should have opened it an hour ago really. The Sun is going down but the sky is blue where I am with barely a cloud in sight. :-)
