Liberator Corridors
BradPaula
I personally feel it's an insight into the actor to meet him or her personally. It also gives me a measure as to how good an actor he or she is, and how they are 'in real life' as it were. I love meeting actors I've admired and have really lost count at how many we're met in the past 3 decades- well over 180 I would say.

My first actor, Steven Pacey and then Paul Darrow- well, I was in awe and more than a bit scared as I expected them to be Tarrant and Avon. They were happily very intelligent, gracious and funny. Nowadays- it's just a pleasure to meet new actors and discuss not only their profession but anything in general. Recent conversations I happen to remember are with Glynis Barber, John Levene and David Graham, and Nick Briggs. It's been a fun ride.

In the fan-made B7 computer games, "Liberation" has a deckplan layout based on the Technical Manual. "Snare" has two parallel corridors running from the flight deck exits, but joined by corridors to the teleport bay.

FD = Flight deck
TB = Teleport bay

Thanks, Joe. But now I'm confused. Which is C1 and C2? i.e. which is the left and right corridor?

Joe Dredd
Corridor 1 runs from the exit closest to Zen.

Thanks, but I don't know how they come up with the right turn at C2 to go the the teleport bay.

I thought the crew generally veered left at C2, and right went to Avalon's cabin:

Oh well, I'll just write my story without getting too specific about the layout. Cheers.

You could get a headache just thinking about where all those corridors go, and then you have those inspection crawl ways (as seen in Aftermath). They go all over the ship. I seem to recall Mr Irvine being asked a very important question back in the 80s at one of the Conventions...Where are the loos??
I'm not too sure we ever found out!!
Cold.....you don't know the meaning of cold.
Cold is when you have ice on the INSIDE of the window!!!

Where are the loos and where is the canteen where Avon cooks up meals for the rest of the crew?

daro2096
I assume there was a food dispenser of some kind. I don't think there was a mess hall they just ate on the flight deck at the sitting area.

The crew used to say Cally was always in there.

From memory, "Gl" on the map is a galley.

Here's the deckplan from the technical manual.

Wow, thanks for posting! I'm still puzzled by the right turn to get to the teleport bay, but it shows both corridors having easy access to the whole ship, which answers my main question. Thanks.

Gosh, that labrynthian picture reminds me of the old computer game that started "You are in a maze of twisty pathways, all alike...."

It was probably Colossal Cave Adventure, the first text adventure game. Many people programmed their own 'like' versions and the phrase has been riffed on and reused in many other adventure games that it really could be one of many.

Oh, that brings back memories!

When I was at university, my flatmate's friend was studying robotics & computer science. He introduced me to Colossal Cave, which was on the university's mainframe computer (this was in the days before personal computers, folks). As I was studying microbiology and had no access to the computer, he generously but unwisely let me use his name & password to play Colossal Cave whenever I liked.

I liked it a lot.

Over the course of one week I used up his whole term's computer access allowance!
