Do you think that nice young man will be around so that us Avon Ladies can help him try on some of Avon's costumes, like PC and I did a few years back? I mean...all those press studs, hooks & eyes, Velcro, nice soft leather........Grin

Down and safe...after a most interesting journey there...numerous road closed signs and Dearest and I saw sooo many villages that we never knew existed in Buckinghamshire!!
The way back was also thrilling...UP the M1 to Northampton (we live near SOUTHampton), then back down to Silverstone. Fun on the entry from M40 to the A34. An Audi and a BMW had an arguement blocking a lane, and then from the A34 to the M3 another mishap; a nice posh convertible had come into contact with a very rusty old car....thank goodness we were on the southbound route on the M3; the Northbound side had ground to a halt come 4 o'clock.
Anyway, photos to follow.

Down & Safe!
Clever old Google Maps Navigator decided to avoid the M1, and took me cross-country over hill and dale. It was a longer journey in terms of mileage (I too ended up going north in order to go south) but there were no holdups, and I saw quite a few interesting villages along the way!

It was great to see everybody, admire the models and chat to the guests. A great day out.

My only complaint was the lack of provision for non-carnivores in the 'K9 Cafe'. There were bacon rolls and burgers in buns, but by the time I'd got the front of the queue they'd run out of the only veggie option - cheese.

Me: "Have you got anything else? Marmite?"
Them: "No, nothing. You could have a roll and butter." Then, inspired: "Would you like a sliced tomato?"

It was quite a nice tomato sandwich, but I think I'd better bring my own food next time!

Down and safe.

Had a great time. Took the train from London and got a cab. Got to meet Michael Keating, the first time I've met a member of the cast. My immediate reaction was 'he's old and frail!' which is complete rubbish as he's an amazingly sprightly 71 year old, but he's 30 in my head! Had a lovely chat with him, and he was very nice to my son and admired his BB8 T shirt and laser gun. He and Sue have 6 grandchildren between them now. When kiddo looked at the B7 cast pictures on display, Michael pointed at Vila and said 'that's my grandson hahahaha'.

Also got some pics of the reunion between Michael and Muller's costume, with the two shaking hands. Michael asked 'shall we kiss now?' - whoever was inside the costume declined!

Hi All, Well that week has gone by very quickly!

One week ago today Gary, Phil, Karyn and I put together 'Vila's Vault' for the Smallspace show at Hanslope.

With grateful help from Mat Irvine, Mike Tucker, Andy Hopkinson and Wendy Duffield.

The show itself was very busy and packed to the rafters with an array of various models and displays.

To celebrate the 40th anniversary of Blake's 7 a selection of props, models, costumes and photos from the show, many original and some unique recreations, were on display in a dedicated room named 'Vila's Vault'.

The room was very busy and the feedback was positive.

The guests, Michael Keating, Roger Murray Leach and Simon Atkinson, paid a few visits and seemed impressed.

All seemed very proud of their association with the show.

Thank you to all who came and had a look around, the smiles, pointing and camera clicking make it all worthwhile.

Hope you enjoy the video.

Thanks for posting the video, Andy. I really enjoyed seeing it all but especially Vila's vault. Great work, all of you! You did our fandom proud.

Andy that’s wonderful. What a huge amount of work. I get a thrill ever time I see the Liberator and the models and guns are so well made! The only one that looks like something I’d have knocked up for a school play is the space rate helmet. Gary’s costumes were displayed beautifully and Sue’s collection was as impressive as ever. Yes Paula’s summed it up....you did our fandom proud. And wasn’t it lovely to see Michael explaining what the buttons on the flight deck did!

I was there Anniew...but not my collection!! There wouldn't have been any room. It was bursting at the seams inside and out. But I did start to badger Gary about a 41st get together next year Grin

Oh I'm on the film in a couple of places, but that collection in the tent was a chappy selling loads of books and annuals...many of which I've already got!
