Most people exchange presents.

Joe Dredd
There are Christmas trees everywhere.

Joe Dredd
We like to see the lights on the tree.

Joe Dredd
...and we all hope the needles will stay on.

Joe Dredd
Presents! Christmas crackers! (Guests!) Something cheap & tacky might turn up, but be polite regardless.

Joe Dredd
You might enjoy listening to some carol singers.

(Then again, you might not!)

Joe Dredd
You may even nod off by the fire.

Even the fact that Servalan doesn't appear is a social comment on the number of viewers failing to tune in to the Queen's Christmas message. (Tsk, tsk!)
Joe Dredd
No matter how you spend Christmas, we hope you end the day feeling wanted and surrounded by friends - even if they do end the day prone rather than on their feet!

And if the day doesn't go as you planned, remember that to Kerr is human - and to forgive, divine!

Merry Christmas everyone!
On the first day of Channukah my cool nephew sent to me...

Villain Pub 12 Days of Xmas

...so I thought I'd share it here on Xmas Eve. It has only a tenuous connection to B7 (on the 10th Day), but it's fun and full of geeky goodness!

There's no point being grown up if you can't be childish sometimes
In case anyone is interested, there is now also The Making of A Friend in Need.
Ok, Christmas song:

It's December now, and the fans all get a fright.
December time, and darkness banishes the light
And in our winter world, fans shed a tear or two,
Throw our arms up in despair:
It’s GP day.

We say a prayer and hope for a change to come
On GP day. It’s hard for while non fans are having fun,
There's a world inside our tv screens, a world of dread and fear
Where a kiss of love can kill you, and there's death in every tear
And the Sirens ringing out there are the wailing cries of doom
As Blake is reaching out and touching Kerr.

No peace and joy on GP day for Avon or his crew
The shocking twist leaves fans impaired.
Why did poor Blake have to die?
Were any of them spared?
How can fans feel it's Christmas time at all?

Here's to the fans;
Raise a glass to everyone.
Here's to the seven;
Let’s hope they’ve years to come
So fans can feel it’s Christmas after all.

Save our Seven: let Chris Boucher know it's Christmas.
Save our Seven: let Chris Boucher know it's Christmas.
Heal our hearts
Chris, let us feel that Christmas isn’t spoiled.
Just because I can't sing doesn't mean I won't.
Phew...been busy all day, now just getting ready to put my feet up.
Here's my contribution....well actually, it was done for me by Michael Hather and it appeared in the zine that me, Sylvie and Marie published back in the 80's; Shadow Two

Merry Xmas to everyone on the forum. Thank you for your love and support during these last difficult months.

in continuation of 18 December “Winter wonderland”
And you know that Blake’s 7 is all about trust…

The whole flight deck was covered with snow.
Zen was flickering with sparkling coloured lights and airing ancient Christmas tunes.
Avon opened his mouth , but the words failed.
“Out of the Way!” Blake’s voice thundered from behind.
Avon jumped aside to let the sleigh pass by.
Blake was sitting in the front and Cally at the back. Both were cheering and giggling like toddlers.
Avon noticed Jenna and Vila, involved in a snow ball fight and he even had to duck to prevent to get hit.
“Can anybody explain what’s going on here?” he shouted in a hoarse voice, “Who tampered with the climate control??!”
But he didn’t get an answer as the others were too busy playing their game.
“Zen!” he tried, doubtful about getting a serious answer.
And indeed, Zen responded with a melodious sound: // I’m dreaming of a white Christmas…//
“NO, you should not dream! You’re a machine! “ Avon shouted.
But it did not help.
“Damn! I need Orac! Now where is that ever so gracious portable information processing device? Don’t tell me that it is… it is… too in this stupid mess!”
To his astonishment he found Orac imbedded in the snow, next to the forward couches.
“Orac! I need some important information!”
Orac’s lights lit up in a festive palette of colours: + Today’s 13 % discount, warm yourself with a hot chocolate! Do you want some anise, honey, or whipped cream? +
“Oh shut up Orac! Please!”

He sank down on the couch and started to mull over how to solve this problem.
It rarely happened that he could not figure out what to do. He shivered.
One single thought sprang into his mind, though:
I’m not at all keen on winter sports…

He got to his feet to fetch his silver jacket.
But the cold had touched his bones and he froze before he reached his cabin.
Suddenly the ship started to lurch and roll.
Avon tumbled down, his Teddy slipped out of his hand and slid down the snowy corridor into the dark. Dark?
Black. Out cold.

He awoke and found himself on the floor, on top of his silver duvet.
He started to panic and searched for his Teddy.
Then he noticed that his cabin door was ajar.
A soft sound of carolling reached his ear.
“I need to go to the flight deck”, but this time he dressed himself with his silver jacket.

He found the crew standing around a festive Christmas tree, built from Liberator’s spare parts.
“You’re late! “ Blake smiled, “And why are you dressed in surface gear? “
“He’s suffering…” Cally turned over to Avon. “ … cold?”
“It would be more disturbing if he was hot…” Vila grinned.
“That’s not fair, “ Gan said, “you can see that he must be ill.”
“At least he’s feeling uncomfortable.” Jenna stepped forward , “What’s wrong Avon?”

“Nothing…” Avon turned to the corridor and left for his cabin.
Blake went after him and blocked the doorway.
“Be better soon Avon… Your present…” he whispered and threw a small packet wrapped in nice black and silver studded paper. “Oh, and here’s your Teddy, don’t lose him again when you go sleep walking! You did, didn’t you, or have you been peeping at Santa? Trust me, I will tell nobody…”

Blake was back on flight deck, just in time to see a series of data and commands tumbling over the main screen. One of them read: inject Sonovapor 450 ppm into cabin 8.
Vila and Gan reached into the storage spaces under the forward couches and handed winter outfits over to Jenna, Cally and Blake.
Zen produced a crescendo arrangement of “Winter Wonderland.”
Orac heated up and spread a nice scent of hot chocolate.

Blake murmured “Sorry Avon, I betrayed you. But true, you’re not keen on snow and cold... and for one time we could do without your cynical remarks.”
Jenna patted the extravagant computer, “Thank you Orac, for your co-operation with Zen and controlling the on-board climate system according to the thoughts and wishes that Zen picked up from my brain at the beginning of our journey!” Then to the others:
“Let’s have fun! Merry Christmas!”

*No, I am not. I am not expendable, I'm not stupid, and I'm not going.*
As it's nearly Boxing Day (and in some parts of the world, it's already Boxing Day), here's the

Solution to the Xmas Shopping Logic Puzzle (Day 16)

These were the clues:
1. The information about rebel groups was acquired by one of the men.
2. Cally did not use Liberator's jewels to make her purchase.
3. Vila bought a selection of proddy tools for Avon (figuring that he could use them if Avon didn't need them). He did not teleport to a Federation Base to buy them.
4. The supply of soma that was bought for Vila came from a neutral research outpost.
5. Avon did not spend credits or jewels – he conducted his transaction by threatening the trader!

The information about the rebel groups was acquired by one of the men (Clue 1). Vila bought the proddy tools (Clue 3) so it was Avon who acquired the information. This means that it was Cally who bought the Soma.

The Soma came from a neutral research outpost (Clue 4), where it was purchased by Cally. Vila did not go to a Federation Base to buy the proddy tools (Clue 3), so he must have bought them on a planet (it happened to be a pleasure planet and he had a very nice time there, but that's another story!). Meanwhile, Avon acquired the information on a Federation Base.

Cally did not use Liberator's jewels for her purchase (Clue 2). Avon conducted his transaction with threats (Clue 5) so it was Vila who traded the jewels for tools, while Cally bought the Soma with credits.

Here's the completed table (click on it to enlarge):

Friends, here ends the Horizon B7 Advent Calendar for 2017.

A huge thank you to everyone who participated, commented, or even looked in and enjoyed our festive frivolities. I hope you all enjoyed it.

Especial thanks to Annie & Hugbot, who did double duty and volunteered to fill extra days in the calendar before we even began. Also to Sue, Lurena, Vanessa and Paula for entertaining us multiple times too.

The participants always appreciate all the kinds words and praise in the Comments thread. A number of people were nice enough to post several times, but whether you could comment lots or only once, it is all appreciated. Thank you all very much.

I must give extra praise to cakeinmilk who pulled a stupendous rabbit out of the hat with the B7 Asteroids game. I have no idea how much time it took to create but it's an amazing piece of work (and hugely entertaining)! Big thanks to skokuro as well, for the B7 Christmas tree and flight deck renders... I know how long these were worked on!

Finally, thanks to everyone involved in making our favourite show - the producers, writers, actors, directors, stuntmen, make up artists, admin people, editors (script & footage!), etc etc, plus Diane for hosting the club and the super-duper Travisina who seems to be on top of everything, holding it all together, wherever she is in the world!

Merry Christmas! Happy Hanukkah!

Only 339 days to go until the next Advent calendar - our fifth, if we decide to do it again!
