I wonder if this was really the location for the scene stated in the script .... or if the director simply changed the place because it was cheaper than setting up the scene somewhere else.

Poor Gan. It breaks my heart every time I watch it.

There were some big changes from the first draft, which were probably very much down to cost.

Well thank you for a....er...lovely rewatch. I seem to recall being stunned by this epiosde, just as I was stunned when the Toby Wren episode of Doomwatch went out. The poor bloke on duty that night had a load of furious phonecalls...
Cold.....you don't know the meaning of cold.
Cold is when you have ice on the INSIDE of the window!!!

Thanks for the company - good to be here again. I hope I can join again next week. Good night! Oops

A bittersweet episode, but fun to see Abingdon Abbey ruins and the famous door again. See you next week!
Zil: Oneness must resist the Host.

Sensible director: OK, we'll do the massacre of the crew before teatime on the penultimate day, so we've got plenty of time to get it right.
Less sensible director: We'll do Gan's death scene at 9.59pm on the final day, so there's no time to get it right.

The big emotional episodes are better watched in company. I'm glad the forum was behaving today. The last rewatch of Blake, I got kicked off about half way through Sad

I love Paul 'D's quote about the scene in this episode where he has to run thorugh the minefield with explosions going off all around him: "Seb Coe had nothing on me that day!"
