Josette Simon as Cleopatra - Group Outing
Travisina
'Antony & Cleopatra' transfers from Stratford to the Barbican in London for a limited run: 30th November 2017 - 20th January 2018.

It would be nice to get a group together to see the play, but there is now limited availability on certain dates / performances. See the list here: Performance Dates, and follow the further links for ticket prices and availability.

Having discussed this with the Supreme Commander and Mistletoe12, we're suggesting the performance on Saturday night 16th December. What do others think? If you're interested in seeing the play, please let us know if that date is good for you or whether you'd prefer a different one, as tickets should be booked as soon as possible!

Yes, I am definitely interested in seeing this play (you wouldn't have thought, would you?)! Pfft

Actually, I would prefer 6th January (the only available January weekend date apart from the derniere). I have to take a day off (or better, two days) which may be a bit tricky just one week before Christmas. Not entirely impossible, though; and 6th January isn't ideal either, so if we can't agree on the 6th I'll see what I can do re the 16th.

Supreme Commander
I've Voted for 16 December but am equally happy with Hugbot's ideal choice of 6th January.

Anyone interested in joining the group please do vote or if you're happy with either of the 2 dates suggested so far, please say as soon as you *possibly* can before those dates sell out (as some already have!)

Mistletoe12
I've voted for 16th December. Likewise, the 6th January works for me if the tickets still available for that performance are within the budget of everyone interested.

Travisina
6th January would work for me, too. Would people actually prefer this date? I've added it as an option to the poll.

I feel very jealous.

Very much enjoyed the cinema screening, it would be wonderto go to the theatre.

Travisina
Despite the poll, the general consensus seems to be that the evening performance on Saturday 6th January would be good for everyone, so we're going for that.

Duly noted but hedging my bets at the moment owing to the job situation. On the bright side looks like I may have a job till the end of December but can't speak for beyond that at the moment. However if there's still tickets available by the time I can commit I'll join you. Smile

Hi everyone, and happy new year!

The play starts at 7.15pm, so we plan to meet for supper beforehand at the Barbican Kitchen, which is on the ground floor of the Barbican.

Looking forward to seeing you there!

We'll have to make due with a CD of the music and excerpts. But have fun one and all! I envy you all.

Belated Down & Safe! Took a while to shift myself into the land of the living today. We made it home at 12:30am Sunday morning - thankfully managing to catch a 177 bus before they terminated.

It was a brilliant day! Thank you one and all for the great company during lunch, early evening, dinner and all the way through to a late night.

Josette stole the show as Cleopatra. She is every inch the leading lady. But the entire cast, set and production was thoroughly engaging and full of surprises. No Spoilers though!

@ Gary: I'm so sorry you were feeling unwell and had to leave early. I hope you’re feeling better today.

We were lucky enough to chat with Josette briefly after the show. She is lovely; a classy lady. And much respect to her too, because taking the time to chat and stay for a group photo considering how exhausted she must have felt is much appreciated.

@ Hugbot: I'm very happy you were able to finally meet Josette!!!

A long day; annoying bus drivers (moving at snail pace); shattered when I dropped into bed, and I loved every moment ... even the icy cold couldn't put a dent in such a brilliant day.

Down and safe in Flensburg again – and I even had a smoot ride home for a change!

It was a great start to the year. Now I am stocked up again on good memories (and Branston pickle).

Travisina
With apologies for the delay, here's the group photo with Josette after the show. Mistletoe Minor was very chuffed that she borrowed his hat for the picture!
