I'd rather have Brian playing a completely new character. But you're right about Trial & Gambit - both outstanding eps.

And the key to Trial, in particular, is that it's Travis on trial. It wouldn't work the same with a new character.

Carnell, the Petyr Baelish of The Federation.

As Carnell came first, could he have been the inspiration for GRRM's character?

On the other hand, Baelish isn't quite as clever as he thinks he is.

Carnell is.

Servie's private bathroom, doing his eyelashes.

Travis could have been placed on trial for his repeated blunders in capturing Blake instead of a whole new charge which came out of nowhere (just my $0.02). This is an OK episode, if I must be honest - not one of the show's strongest, but not one of its weakest, either - for me, it's an average romp for the Liberator crew. Smile

But this Travis is on trial for a different massacre than the one Travis 1 committed. The planets have different names.

So are pupetters part of the Federation chain of command? He talks of payment like an independent contractor, but acts like he has a right to see the report.

I wouldn't be surprised. There seem to be elements of B7 in GOT.

There seem to be elements of B7 in most things that came after it!

More like an external department, like the CIA or MI6

Travis is a very bad man Grin

But we wouldn't feel the same as it was a new character on trial; rather than an established one. We feel empathy for Travis.

There is the trickle down effect. Something is influenced by Farscape or B5, which were influenced by B7.
