Oh Ben Steed - the gender stuff is such a load of old tosh - but I'll defend the rest of his episodes, he writes good quick fire lines, and here everyone gets some good action.

Is this episode not subversive, though?

I rather enjoyed that. It's not the best episode ever but there are elements to it that I find interesting.

I think that goes for me, too. Of the three Ben Steed eps, this and Harvest are ones that I always enjoy rewatching.

Really enjoyable episode - Dicken Ashworth is great. And next week... we have our first rebellion in a long time....

Zonda
Glad I was able to join you, at least for the last 20 mins or so. Cheers all.

Hope you enjoy it - I had a bit too much to say about if I'm honest!

Apologies for logging out and not finishing the rewatch with you.
My daughter, her hubby and their baby are safe.
The police were chasing a minibus and it crashed into the neighbour's house. The driver is still on the run now. There is many police searching for him and the police helicopter is scanning the neighbourhood. We don't know yet how dangerous/armed that driver is.

I liked it very much!
Very interesting analysis.
I've always put Vila's behaviour down to post-Orbit PTSD. Before this we've seen Vila being cheerfully drunk, or pretending to be drunk, but this angry-drunk is something we haven't seen before. And as you point out, Vila is never alone again with Avon.
