With now exactly a year to go until Cygnus Alpha 4.0, we will be releasing 3 guests over the next 3 days. The first of our announcements is that actor John Wyman who played Cancer in the episode "Assassin". Tickets for next year's Blake's 7 40th anniversary event are available from www.cygnusalpha.org |

Looks like this could be a great event, and at this moment in time from what I can see the main celebration of the 40th anniversary. Over three days is always cool. I would imagine some great guests will be added as and when they can confirm. I haven't been to a convention since the late 90's - the halcyon days for conventions (in my opinion). This looks really good. |

Will there be a good few folk from the forum in attendance? I have no idea what the regular attendance is like at events advertised on here. Is there a regular attendance from this portal? Excuse my ignorance in this regard. |

Is there a regular attendance from this portal? Excuse my ignorance in this regard. Zenrac, this is one of the first three-day Blake's 7 exclusive events in many years, if memory recalls and all the other smaller conventions like Return to Gauda Prime 1 2 and 3, and Cygnus Alpha 1 2 and 3 have been heavily populated by members of this Forum. To my knowledge, Cygnus Alpha 4.0 will be the same. Both Brad and I are attending (we live in the USA) and I have it on good authority that more than a dozen members here have already bought tickets for the event. I believe Ian has set a 120 person attending limit and that very early on, half the tickets had been sold. These conventions are a sort of family reunion for many of us as that is the only way we can meet in person. Of course, all of us are looking forward to this big con celebrating 40 years of our favorite program. And as always, we fans, and particularly the older ones like my husband and I (33 year fans of the show) not only enjoy seeing our friends but love meeting and making new friends in fandom. So, think fast before the tickets are gone and I'm sure it will be a great weekend for all who attend. Edited by BradPaula on 11 November 2017 04:38:35 Zil: Oneness must resist the Host.

I once took an Amtrak train from Chicago to Seattle. It was called the Empire builder. I have seen NFL games in Chicago. My grandfather was from Illinois. It gets mighty cold up there in the winter. Like, properly cold. I have fond memories of that part of the world. |

Yes, it gets mighty cold where we live- and being on the east side or 'lee' side of lake Michigan, we often get snow- measured in feet because of the phenomenon called 'lake snow'. Actually, we woke up to s bit of snow yesterday morning- and it was a shock as it's been so warm here. To steal a phrase from Game of Thrones, Winter is Coming! Zil: Oneness must resist the Host.

Well fingers crossed I make it to the event. It would be nice to hear all about where you live. A touch of global warming in play where you are, would you say, based on your above comments? |

Hello! First post from a newbie, albeit someone who was just old enough to watch series 4 when it was first broadcast. I'm going to Cygnus Alpha - my first ever convention. I'm London-based, but as this is out near Kew, it's probably going to be a 'send the sprog to the grandparents for the weekend, book into the Holiday Inn and have a great time' weekend. ![]() To Brad, Paula and Zenrac: Years ago I spent the summer working at a US summer camp in Massachusetts, then bought an Amtrak pass and spent a few weeks going up and down the East coast from Milwaukee to Florida, and most places inbetween. I had a great time in Chicago! |
