I'd never thought of it that way! Nice. I notice it was Roger Murray-Leach who designed this, so perhaps it's a case of being true to the original concept, both interior and exterior. Or perhaps it doubled up as Vila's space helmet in Dawn of the Gods. |

It's a scene from the German sci-fi series Raumpatrouille (Orion engineer Hasso Sigbjörnson trying to restore life support aboard the wreck of General Lydia van Dyke's battle cruiser Hydra). Wonky sets, not-so-special effects, less than heroic characters and (mostly) cracking dialogue ... sounds familiar, doesn't it? |

It was interesting reading Tim, especially as earlier in the week I read this article about BBC Record & Tapes (Click!). It even mentions the original Death & Horror sound effects LP. |

Fascinating article - although I thought I had removed any memory of Nick Berry's 'Ever Loser Wins' from my mind - only for it to return from its dormant state! ![]() |

Evening all. Another new post has, just this second, been published. This time it's Aftermath. And the beginning of my favourite series. It's got the usual ramblings, and appreciation of designer furniture, but on the plus side it does have the words 'televisual slappery' - so it can't all be bad. Hope there is something of interest in the sand dunes. https://watchingb...aftermath/ Bests, Zonda. |

Thanks Zonda...I enjoyed that ..especially this line: "This is a darker, even less scrupulous landscape than before." A great observation. Just because I can't sing doesn't mean I won't.

Another great post, and I love this comment about the Intergalactic War: "So I take my hat off to you David Maloney. You made the bravest decision to spend next to nothing on the biggest event in Blake’s 7’s universe – all for the greater good." |

Another excellent essay, Tim. More please! "Indulge me." Quoting Blake? Nice. I love Gareth Thomas's delivery of this line in the final episode. |

I can't remember if you've already told us Tim, but how are you selecting which episode to comment on next? Are you tackling them in a certain order, or do you simply pick whichever one you fancy watching next? |

I wanted to watch each episode on it's own terms, and use my memory to piece anything that links it to any other episodes. I think the reason for this is that Blake's 7 is my little bit of escapism after a long day so I choose an episode dependent on my mood etc. The only thing I want to do is make sure I give all four series an even spread in the order I watch them... ...and change my mind a million times before clicking on 'publish' ![]() |
