Anyone recognise these ladies?
littlesue
Daughter no. 1 dragged me off to an auction a couple of Sundays ago and won a bundle of old music magazines and film booklets.
Among this little lot were some photos. She knows who most are, but these two ladies have stumped her (and me!)
Even the original photographer can't remember. (Nikki emailed him!!!)
So here is the photo. Any ideas?

Hmm its hard to place the date of the photo, the 60's?

The lady on the right reminds me of Esma Cannon (Nice (slightly mad, in a pleasant way lady in Carry on Cruising)

Probably completely wrong of course, and am probably am..

*goes back into corner*

EDIT did some looking up..

Scratch that I looking at some publicity shots from around the time her face is a different shape..

Hmm and I thought those memory card games were hard Pfft

Yes, we thought in the 60s sometime. It looks as though it's backstage and the cake may be celebrating a two year run of something. The thing is, I'm sure I recognise that lady on the right. But then again, my memory has huge big holes in it at times.
But my other question is...what on earth is that younger lady wearing on her head????

It's no good asking me - as a lifelong sufferer from Prosopagnosia I struggle to recognise people today, let alone from several decades ago!

I keep hoping the older lady is about to smoosh the cake in the vapid orange lady's face!
Just because I can't sing doesn't mean I won't.

Is that a hat? I thought an awning had fallen on her head!

I've got no idea either, I just came in to say how great Esma Cannon is (and she was an Aussie). She was in the original BBC incarnation of "The Rag Trade" (later revived by LWT in colour and with a different cast, apart from Paddy and Mr Fenner). She's also brilliant in "Sailor Beware" as the put-upon sister-in-law of the late great Peggy Mount in full-on belligerent battle-axe wife/prospective mother-in-law mode. A great little movie with a young Gordon Jackson as the groom's best man and fellow sailor, Carnoustie Bligh.

I'm going to have to watch it again - Wikipedia says both Michael Caine and Paul Eddington have uncredited roles as sailors.

Back to the photo: the older lady looks a bit like a young Violet Carson (Ena Sharples) but it's definitely not her.
