Bless you Brad and Paula...Susan and I agreed that we needed to give all the folks overseas as much notice as possible.

The advantage is that there is an international airport 10 mins drive away. You can get direct flights from Toronto and New York. There are good rail connections from central Birmingham that will take you pretty much anywhere in the U.K.

The following website gives a map of all flight routes from Birmingham. http://birmingham...stinations

There are no direct flights from Chicago to Birmingham, and the thought of a layover in Toronto or New York in February is just begging for a travel delay. Furthermore, it will be cheaper to fly into Heathrow and take the train to Birmingham than fly direct via New York or Toronto. Go figure.

I was hoping there would be an event to celebrate the anniversary Smile
Now I know when my big trip for 2018 will be.

I am really looking forward to this!!

The 17th is the day before my birthday but I'm not averse to celebrating early!

Superb news, well done ladies.

I will reserve the date.

Thank you, everyone, for your lovely responses! You guys are brilliant! It's our intention to make it a day to remember. The show has brought us fandom, friendships, a wonderful cast/crew, and Blake's 7 at 40, deserves to be honoured.

Mistletoe let us know if we can do anything!
Just because I can't sing doesn't mean I won't.

Lorna, if we can swing it, do you have extra space for us again? You should start charging us a nightly rate!

It goes without saying I'd love to be there but sadly it will only be a tentative yes pending work commitments. Never the less, I'm thrilled that pending any wars or other Earth nonsense breaking out, I'm really looking forward to attending the Blake event this year.

I should be able to come - especially given the Central location. The NEC is on the main rail line from London Euston to Birmingham and is served by Birmingham International station. In addition to a train every 20 minutes from London there's also a train every hour from Southampton and Oxford also fom Manchester, Leeds and Newcaslte. Best site for booking tickets is gwr.com

Anniew
It's also VERY cheap to get there. I think I paid about 12 ( London to Birmingham) because I booked in advance. Would leave enough for an overnight stay!

Thanks Richard, we are always grateful for local knowledge.

Also from people who come from abroad, you can fly into BHX and go straight from the airport
I have concluded that Jenna is Blake-aware, Blake is Avon-aware, Avon is self-aware and Gan is rarely aware. Vila is merely wary. Cally is frequently more away than aware.

Wonderful -not too far for us to come from Leeds XD

B7 cons are always worth travelling to... well be there, as usual... there's so many possibilities here, you could run it for 2 days and people would enjoy it a lot.... screen the first and last episodes on a big screen at the beginning and the end of the event ( that for me would make it special, remind us where we started all those years ago and where we ended up) can't wait.. just hope some of the stars will be around to celebrate it with us
