speaking of bloopers

so we know Exbar is a freezing planet- so how come Ushton is dressed in leathers and furs and Inga's well, wearing rather inappropriate clothes for the weather?

I mean yeah they're indoors but surely that base isn't that warm.

Also, Ushton being the brother of Blake's father, his surname is Blake as well. SO why is he calling Blake - "Blake"? He calls him Roj in the beginning

tsk tsk

I have concluded that Jenna is Blake-aware, Blake is Avon-aware, Avon is self-aware and Gan is rarely aware. Vila is merely wary. Cally is frequently more away than aware.

Same on Cephlon - natives in furs, Liberator crew in thermal jackets, Meegat in light muslin.

I know some people don't feel the cold, but still...

TBH, there is so much wrong with 'Hostage', the bloopers you list are minor infractions.

and so much right ... Brian looking in top shape( sorry but in the Travis looks department BRian>Stephen), and the famous 1.bp.blogspot.com/-gD1OV4PAuvs/U3hrSYOYmiI/AAAAAAAAD3s/dsyTMPzquDU/s1600/hostage9.jpg

Plus, it comes before Countdown ( and Blake being so hilariously protective of Avon)

also, the mighty Del Grant

Go back to Spacefall. Look at Avon's Zen induced vision of his brother. You don't need to be an expert at lip reading to realize that Avon's brother is calling him 'Avon.'

Even Anna calls him Avon Grin

so they call each other Avon?

Kerr Avon, presumably an Alpha, called Avon.
Roj Blake, ditto, called Blake
Jenna Stannis, a 'superior grade citizen' called Jenna
Olag Gan, unknown, but presumably not an Alpha, called Gan
Vila Restal, a Delta 'fourth grade ignorant' called Vila
Servalan, presumably an Alpha, never given a first name.
Del Tarrant, presumably an Alpha or Beta as he was in officer training, called Tarrant.
Soolin, a farmer's daughter (?), never given a surname.
Koser, A Beta, no first name given.
Rashel, a bond slave, no surname given
Travis, an officer of field rank, no first name given.
Ushton and Inga, exiled to a low grade penal colony, called by their first names despite their previous status.

Except for Jenna, the convention seems to be that Alphas and Betas go by their surname, while lower grades go by their given names. But again, don't look for continuity in B7 or you'll go mad.

which makes Deva a gamma? I wouldn't expect Deltas to get trained in computers

Inga calls Blake Roj so presumably, Avon's choice of being called by his surname by the love of his life is a personal pecadillo or maybe indicates he just wasn't that into Anna!

Deva could be a surname as in Bert Deva and so he could be a beta...as could Avon, Keiller and Joe Tynus.

Servalan could be Servalan Smith..

But as Brad says...Blakes 7 ..continuity...choose your own reality and make it stick.

Likewise it might be Roxanne Soolin and Travis Jones. Wink

But name conventions could be very different by the time of B7. Maybe Blake and Ushton don't have the same surname. Maybe Ushton is a surname.

And maybe Kerr is a title such as "Mr". And Avon's parents called him Avon Avon. Hence his brother and his lover calling him Avon.

Gamma is never mentioned in B7. Only three grades are ever mentioned: Alpha, Beta and Delta. Maybe the alphabet has changed has changed by the time of B7.

But logically some other grade must exist, or Vila would have been classified Third Grad Ignorant....

I know, logic and 70's television do not go together, I'm just saying...

Well, Jenna is referred to as "superior grade", so maybe:

* Superior
* Alpha
* Beta
* Delta

Meaning Jenna is superior to everyone else... I, and I daresay Ms Knyvette, will go with that theory from now on. Pfft
