There's definitely a bit of a crossover with Survivors and Blake's 7 fans. I've only watched Survivors once (and the new series), but I did enjoy it.

It was because of Survivors that I sat down to watch that new show by Mr Nation, on 2nd Jan 1978!

BTW Sister....are you going to join us tomorrow, Tuesday? We have a weekly rewatch, This week it's Aftermath. Just pop your DVD in at 7.45pm tomorrow evening and join in the chat on the forum.

I love the original Survivors, have the dvds and various fanzines - from when they used to be a postal fan group!

Well what a good idea re. a mass re-watch Smile!

The thing is I am still on my 1st watch! I'm up to almost the end of the 3rd series BUT my partner and I (he who introduced me to it...he has loved it since childhood) have already agreed to start watching them all through again straight away as soon as we finish them!
I'm trying to eek them out so as to appreciate them fully!

Hehe Smile

Ooh I recently caught an old episode of Robin of Sherwood (loved that too in the day!) and it reminded me straight away of B7!! I had said when I started watching B7 that it seemed like Robin Hood and the merry men, then that really confirmed it!...then found out Paul had been Sheriff of Nottingham in a previous version... well I wasn't surprised.

Back to avonpds.myfreeforum -I just looked at the memberlist and I am successfully on there YET can't log in. Oh well !

I agree, there are a lot of similarities between Robin of Sherwood and B7 - in fact I once wrote an article about it! http://nothingsfo...son-blakes

We attended a con in Chicago with a panel made up of B7 and ROS cast.

Lot's of nonsense, but one great question.

Compare the similarities and differences of being outlaws hiding among the trees, and outlaws hiding among the stars.

I'd love to add 'The Water Margin' to that question - outlaws hiding among the marshes!

I just remember Mark Ryan being so stunned at finally getting a good question that he went into a panto routine about what a bad question it was.

Mark spent the entire week end trolling Paul Darrow...
So I asked him to autograph a Paul Darrow picture, telling him Paul was too shy to ask for it himself.

Mark wrote, "Paul, I know you love me, and I understand why. Love, Mark Ryan."

For those who remember the old Letterzine, you may recall the flare up about Ushton's digital watch peeking out from under John Abinari's cuff in one shot.
There was great debate about whether Ushton should have a watch, or if it was Johns, and he just forgot to take it off.
So having never heard of or seen ROS, and being the cheeky Americans we are, we got in the autograph queue just to ask John Abineri that question.
Clearly thinking we were mad, but being oh so politely British about it, he admitted it was his own watch.

At which point Mark said, "No, you can't leave, it's an autograph line, one of us has to sign something."
So I gave him Paul Darrow's picture to sign, as relayed above.

Anyway, we totally fell in love with the cast of ROS (Mark Ryan, John Abineri, Phil Rose, Clive Mantle, and John Irvine were there IIRC ), and immediately set about looking for the tapes at our local movie rental (this was long before DVD).

Why am I not surprised? Mark Ryan is a great guest - once went to a small con with him and Terry Walsh. Most of us stayed in the bar with them into the wee hours, with Mark buying the drinks (or charging them to the con organiser, I'm not sure!).

My dad once shared digs with John Abineri for a while. I think it was in Sheffield, when JA was appearing at the theatre.
