@Angry Angel - mystery solved! I asked the Supreme Commander, who remembered that we saw Guards, Guards at the Hackney Empire. Phew!

I'll have to take her word for it! My memory is obviously fairly shaky, more east London than north.

Hackney is sort of north east London!

Just spotted this. Travisina - if you'd said 'with the Paul Darrow cardboard cutout' instead of just 'where might I have seen GG with you?' I'd have said the Gordon Craig Theatre, Stevenage. It was during the latter part of the 1998 tour because it was after the Deliverance 98 convention (March 98) where the cardboard cutout was a 'guest' in Paul's absence as he was unable to attend due to being in the show.

The cutout - created by brilliant artist Nick Spender - filled in for the 'real' Paul so he could appear in group photos, and Paul kindly provided his signature on an inked stamp so that the fans could by proxy still have his autograph. The life size Paul cutout was auctioned off for charity at the end of the convention and for the Stevenage GG Group Outing I persuaded its new owner, Elaine, to bring the cutout along to surprise Paul. Paul knew there was a group coming to see the show that night but was not expecting his cardboard doppleganger. His face when he realised was an absolute picture. I'll have to see if I can find some of my photos taken of the two of them together... Fantastic evening.

Sounds like a lot of fun!

What happened to the Paul Darrow signature stamp?

It was. I think I still have the signature stamp somewhere - certainly I wouldn't have thrown it away and I didn't want to auction it off in case it got into the hands of someone unscrupulous. I expect it's hiding in one of my gazillion Blake's 7 boxes stacked in assorted rooms of my house.

I'll add it to my list of a million and one things to do. Wink

Turns out my memory isn't as bad as I thought, Stevenage is definitely north of London!
