Horizon Advent Calendar Comments 2016
Anniew
Well now Joe I've solved 2 and 3 and I can make several birds out of the letters of the list but I suspect you intended something cleverer!!! Is that right??
Just because I can't sing doesn't mean I won't.

Joe Dredd
There's one particular bird you need to find. Beware of staring at the list of words for too long, though - you might start seeing double!

clanger68
Wow, time seems to be going along at Standard by Twelve this year!

Joe Dredd - Ahhhh, my brain! LOL

bob79519 - Great story.

cakeinmilk - Wonderful illustration, a snow-bot, can't beat that at Christmas time, it could even roast its own chestnuts.

soopermouse - Great video, takes so much out of you doing them doesn't it.

BradPaula - Fabulous, love John leeson, what a lovely message.

Fantastic entries so far, well done all.

I need to get up to speed this Christmas.....

Vila - "I plan to live forever - or die trying"

thanks Smile if all goes well I may make another one for the 24th, this time a happier one.

I really enjoyed your crossword, Tyce. I've still got about three answers to fill in on the outside but I'm almost done! Some of the clues were quite fun and I particularly liked & appreciated the wording for 1 across.

Lurena
Oh dear I have missed it all so far. Too much work in this period and in between too feverish to solve riddles , or read.
I hope I don't offend you when I say that I save reading the Advent calendar for the time off?
Lara&Sue's Blake's 7 stories
*No, I am not. I am not expendable, I'm not stupid, and I'm not going.*

We won't be offended at all, Lurena. I hope your work eases off soon.

Are you still able to post your calendar entry on the 16th?

Anniew
Tyce...finished the crossword...most enjoyable... thank goodness for the sevencyclopedia or I'd never have done it!! Thank you.

And Joe, I have got your next puzzle but I'm still stuck on the bloomin' bird!!!
Just because I can't sing doesn't mean I won't.

Anniew
And Claire ROFL.
Just because I can't sing doesn't mean I won't.

sooper mouse
Claire, how does one iron leather trousers?
I have concluded that Jenna is Blake-aware, Blake is Avon-aware, Avon is self-aware and Gan is rarely aware. Vila is merely wary. Cally is frequently more away than aware.

Are you seeing double yet?

. Carefully! Boom Trish!

And Joe - no I haven't!!!
Just because I can't sing doesn't mean I won't.

You should definitely try it! Perhaps read the list again while repeating "Doubles...doubles... Joe Dredd is a twit... doubles..doubles" over and over!

All I get from that is a bird that lays square eggs'!
Just because I can't sing doesn't mean I won't.

sooper mouse
Joe, you just gave me a mental image of a roasted Moloch on a platter with various vegs.
Thank you for your invaluable help with my diet.

Anniew, see if you can find The Story of Blake and Avon on Youtube.....have tissues at the ready!
Soopermouse's vid reminded me of it.

I hope you don't think we're leaving you stuck on your own like a shag on a rock, as the saying goes!

Joe I am beyond help...every clue leaves me even more baffled. All I can think of is the old rhyme..the common cormorant or shag// lays eggs inside a paper bag...which doesn't get me further!!

It does, it does! You are so very close!

Have a look at the list of animals and take note of any instances of letters being repeated together (e.g. "Moondog").
