Horizon Advent Calendar Comments 2016
Joe Dredd
That's brilliant, cakeinmilk! Beautifully done, cute, touching and seasonal! Not to mention that you've got a hugbot in there!

I love the colours, particularly the way you've done the sky. It's a lovely happy picture and it's cheered me up immensely too!

Now we're cooking with gas!!

Blast it, I was wrong about puzzle #6. I spotted that SOAK had two vowels instead of one like the others, and missed the tree names Sad
I did catch on the the numbers being part of the works in #5 and was right about the elements (and caught the lead/led clue after I posted last night). I suppose two of three isn't bad.

Joe Dredd
I think you did brilliantly! Hopefully the puzzles are providing more fun than frustration.

Anniew
I did it!! I got them right!! ( except I thought FiRM was the odd one out because it contained a coniferous tree ( fir) while the others were deciduous) and I learned something about elements. Thanks Joe.

And cake in Milk I love baby Jenna and a snow Hugbot. Now in PGP terms is she the offspring of Jenna and Blake/Jenna and Grant/ Jenna and Avon or.....????? Someday that fic will get written.
Just because I can't sing doesn't mean I won't.

Ooh, I know two of the answers in Round 3!

There's no point being grown up if you can't be childish sometimes

Joe Dredd
Good work, you two.

Annie, you're right, they all had trees hidden in them, but FIRM had FIR in the start of the word rather than at the tail end. The coniferous/deciduous distinction is purely coincidental and I hadn't even realised it was there. Thanks for thinking I could come up with a puzzle that brainy. I think perhaps you should set some too!

@Joe - I like mulling over a good quiz. I will be trying to avoid looking at the quiz answers whilst taking a peek at the clues! Great fun!

@Bob: I will look forward to reading Chapter 5

@cakeinmilk: What a heart-warming advent contribution. Clever, creative and it speaks to the child in me who always wishes it would snow at Christmas.

I can't draw, can't do maths and I have no idea how to put pictures to music.

But at least everyone else can and I'm loving it!

I trust Huggy likes the cartoonGrin. If it snows I may even try and build me own Hugbot in the garden!!!
Cold.....you don't know the meaning of cold.
Cold is when you have ice on the INSIDE of the window!!!

yeah but you write amazing stuff
I have concluded that Jenna is Blake-aware, Blake is Avon-aware, Avon is self-aware and Gan is rarely aware. Vila is merely wary. Cally is frequently more away than aware.

Joe Dredd
Wow, sooper mouse! You clearly put a lot of effort into that video. I particularly like the Avon & Anna shot at about 51", with the foreground picture superimposed over the background one.

Thanks Mistletoe12. I'm going to stop posting the answers so quickly so there's less chance of them spoiling anyone's fun.

that one isn't mine, someone else made it and I borrowed it because it's such a powerful image.
It actually did take several hours because I wanted to make it look like a document of Avon's feelings for Blake and his descent into madness, from the moment they met on the London until the end, and it was pretty heart wrenching because it's such a sad story.
Like I said before, I always believed Avon and Blake cared about each other and going through all of it to get fresh captures made it very acute- thus the song.
This is actually supposed to be from Blake's point of view, maybe he didn't know how Avon felt about him and at the last moment after Avon shots him he realizes and all that he has known and experienced of Avon comes to him in a bit of a disjointed wave and he dies knowing that Avon always loved him.

Well the feeling of confidence I had at solving puzzle 2 has evaporated and puzzle 3 has left me......puzzled!

And soopermouse - what a labour of love and oh boy so sad!!!
Just because I can't sing doesn't mean I won't.

Anniew
I've got one of puzzle three... I have...really...got one...solved it. Whoopeee.

Excellent, Annie! I'm glad you didn't get 'bored' with it! Perseverance is key. ; )

That's very gratifying to hear. It' very satisfying when you crack a really impossible one, isn't it?

Anniew
Joe I think you're flattering me...but I did enjoy working them out!

Paula....magic....Happy Holidays from Toose!

Wow, great work Paula - a special message from John Leeson! (I'll resist making a pun about seeing more toys/Toise at Christmas time!)

Wonderful. Thank you! And - "Good boy, K-9!"
