Frozen: jacket potatoes, fish, fruit, vegetables, bread, chicken pieces. Nothing exciting, I'm afraid!

The door sound fx - same as in 'Hitchhiker'. I keep expecting it to say 'Glad to be of service'

So does Soolin!
I think it's a well-written indicator of the character (Keiller) rather than sexism on the part of the writer (Colin Davis, not Ben Steed!)

I thought they meant something like the Battlestar Galactic world where they can't have linked computers...more like secure networks than the internet.

Yes, I think that comes across well.

Is that a phone booth? Is the weird thing you find at ladies hairdressrers?

I think we are supposed to not like it. We are supposed to find him creepy I agree it's more of a character trait.

Roy Kinnear is absolutely superb in this role... it suits him to a tee.

It wouldn't even have to be a mission. It would just be a quick supply mission, things would go wrong, fire fight ensues. Soolin and Dayna leave ruins in their wake.

Perfect, and he had so much fun making it.

Colin Davis said that it's not at all how he imagined Keiller when he wrote him (tall, smooth, urbane) and was surprised by the casting choice. But then hugely pleased when he saw how wonderful Roy Kinnear was in the role!

Dayna: "The radiation hasn't left much" - bit of 'Warlord' foreshadowing?
