Oh, I've been in that world for a long time!

Is Didcot near the village? I was hoping the village had a hotel or B&B as I plan to arrive on the Saturday, it's too far to do in one day by train and get there before it ends.

Didcott is a short drive from Steventon. There is a B&B in Steventon, The Cherry Tree, but space is limited. Many of us are staying at The Premiere Inn in Didcott.

For Silver Alaunt and any others wondering about accommodation, here are some ideas:

In Steventon:

Very close by (1 mile or less from Steventon)

The Premier Inn is fully booked for the 10th, so we've booked at the Cherry Tree. Looking forward to getting together with everyone!

That reminds me... I need to book.

Cherry Tree now has one room left. 3 of us are looking for rooms. Anyone booked in anywhere else?

Word is out that the Premier Inn in Didcot is also filled up for the weekend.

Yes. I had hoped to book at the Premier Inn Didcot but it was full so looked at alternatives. I thought Premier Inns were like the Tardis with endless rooms, but obviously not.
I have booked at Home Farm House B&B on the village green at Steventon. Looks lovely. Zoe is booked there too.

Thank you Purplecleric for the advice on B&B's. I have booked a room at Tether's End (50 inc cooked breakfast). Looks like a very nice place. The Cherry Tree was out of my budget but B&B is in the village and suits me fine.

You're welcome, SilverAlaunt.

You are in a prime location for accessing the venue. A Sunday morning stroll across the village green. Perfect!

Many thanks for the suggestions Purple Cleric, I was thinking of just getting a 45GBP a night room but then I saw this one you mentioned: http://www.miller-smithbandb.co.uk/charges.htm
It looks like a scene from a Tom Baker Dr Who episode. Smile
It's not exactly Stargrove manor(eg 'The Pyramids Of Mars'Wink, but that's OK as I don't wish to encounter Sutek.

Great news on the tickets.

That B&B looks amazing, then Steventon is a very nice place.

And the Hugbot, too! See you there!
This is the nearest accomodation to the venue, just diagnolly across the road (and also in crawling distance to the Cherry Tree).

Does anyone have any requests on some food I can bring over from Australia that may not be readily available in the UK?(Not sure what that might be except for Daryl Lea chocolates but please do put some requests in as I'll be travelling light to the UK, to go back loaded with goodies and souvenirs etc. ). Oh yeah, perhaps famous Australian Tim Tams may not be prolific in the UK???

Fingers crossed the accommodation I've enquired about get's back to me shortly.
My main concern is if there's curfews at any of these B&B/Inn's as I have no idea what time it will take to get from Heathrow to Steventon and even less idea of when the plane will touch down in Heathrow until closer to the date.
