Blake Event - 11 June 2017
JustBrad
This was a truly marvelous day. For a first con, for a tenth con, this was flawless. Hearty congratulations to all involved in putting this wonderful event together. I have attended professionally run cons that weren't half as well organized. (Hint: Newcastle).

Hi All,

Hoping you're all having a fantastic time at Blake.

Wishing we could have been there but last minute events conspired against us (so we will be there with you all in spirit if not in person).

Was great to meet up with everyone at the Cherry Tree and do the location visit even though we had to cut it short (apologies to everyone involved but we needed to leave and didn't have time to really explain why or say goodbye to everyone).

Shattered and emotionally drained at the moment after only getting back from the hospital at 4 am this morning.

Sean (Spaceresearcher) I'll PM you separately now re some items we still need to get to you either before you head out or we'll send once you're down and safe back in Aus.

Pictures from the location visit (including Gary's door) will be uploaded either later on today or tomorrow.

Hope everyone enjoys the day, have a super time and our thoughts are with you all.

Jon & Becky (the Welsh rebels)

So glad your alright. I still have some treaties if we manage to meet at some point. (I'll be viewing interesting places around this way today and I'll be in London for 3 days also, so fingers crossed.)

In any case I hope you are feeling better today and that things start looking brighter for you. Take care and may you have a better day today.

Oops missed this late last night / early morning but +1 to what Sean/Spaceresearcher posted

Jon and Becky, there's no need to apologise, we all understand and are thinking of you at this difficult time.

It was very nice to meet you and will share some photos soon which will perhaps be of some cheer.

Maximum enjoyment, maximum love, maximum gratitude.

A wonderful day that all the Blake team had worked like crazy to make so special! Guests in absolutely top form, displays absolutely fantastic, cakes absolutely yummy.

Whoever had the idea of starting with the panel should be heaped with honours because it's the best convention idea ever! It started everything with a bang and it was so moving to hear from Gareth's widow. The fan room was a delight and the sight of so many male fans diligently keeping their colouring between the lines to be treasured.

The space worked perfectly...spacious yet intimate...

Special kudos to the valiant federation troopers, cosplaying on a very hot day, and surprisingly menacing, reminding us of the dystopian roots of the series.

My friend who was meeting the Horizon lot for the first time, mentioned the extraordinary range of talent on display - Lego Blakes, crocheted Avons, mini books, art works, music, models, fiction, location photos.

Such a satisfying celebration of Gareth and his seven.

Thank you all.
Just because I can't sing doesn't mean I won't.

Down and Safe (at a reasonable time last night.)

Huge congratulations to Team Blake: pat yourselves on the back; you were brilliant.

What a wonderful day!

Thanks to all - Mrs cakeinmilk and I had a wonderful time and everyone's responses to my Lego creations was a nice justification of the time spent working on them. Such a warm familial feeling about the entire event.

And a big thank you to Mrs Cakeinmilk for keeping an eye on my display while I went a wandering...(and Daughter No. 2 had a snooze outside in the shade!!)

I'd like to thank all those who made it a thoroughly enjoyable day! Great to meet lots of friends and make a few new ones! I was pleased that Paul Darrow is still as chirpy as ever. This is the first time I've seen him since his illness.

Down and safe 10pm last night. It was an awesome day, major thanks to the organisers and all who made it such fun. The panel was brilliant, the costumes to die for, all the clever things people made (Lego Blakes 7! and knitted teleport bracelets - what talent!), the quiz (Spaceresearcher and I did it together and got half points but he won the gun and I was so pleased!) and the auction that made such a lot of money for the charity. And cake too from the knitting lady. All those who came in costume. Sorry if I missed someone out. The day in Adingdon was wonderful too, so much history there at a Blake location. Sorry that the Welsh Rebels had to go home and hope all well with them. And of course, my no 1 hero, Paul, who was as funny as ever, The perfect day!

After an absolute brilliant, I am now enjoying a sunny day in Lulworth Cove.

It wa a wonderful event, great to see so many old friends and to get to know some new faces! For me, the event even continued today, as I had booked in a real rebel stronghold and could still enjoy breakfast with like-minded fans today (Spaceresearcher, Mrs- & MrOlag). Special thanks to Spaceresearcher for giving me a lift to the station (that way, I could even catch an early train than I had expected) and to Spaceresearcher, Mrs- & MrOlag and Ellen for seeing me off at thte station!

I am now enjoying the gorgeous landscape around the cove (coming down from the taxi stand to my hotel was like walking into a postcard!), and the best thing is that I can already look forward to seeing the gang again at the weekend!

(And another great thing is that I have now Dayna with me! Wink )

@Littlesue: Excellent photos! Grin

I was excitedly looking at all the pictures and videos people were posting on Sunday, and reading people's accounts of what a great time they were having. Please post much more (once you're all rested up, that is!) Wink

(Ooh! I spy my Blake picture on the Gareth's wall in Littlesue's picture! Thank you once again so much for allowing me to contribute even from so far away.)

Down & safe in good time last night, my drive home enlivened by thinking over the day (car radio's on the fritz). A fantastic day and full (federation)credit to all who worked so hard to honour our rebel leader's memory. I'm sorry I had to miss the evening's gatherings, especially as I left before the gang was fully together, but I was with you all in spirit and raised my Horizon ale to Gareth when I got home.

To all those from overseas, I hope you have a wonderful remainder of your trip and enjoy the rest of your UK experience. To those who I met for the first time, it was a joy and I look forward to meeting you again.

This rock is still wearing a bracelet and hoping Jenna will attempt a fly-by pick-up really soon. Just keep Vila awake at the teleport controls...
Cool
