RIP Gordon Murray

Creator of Camberwick Green, Trumpton and Chigley.

RIP Mr Murray, and thanks.

Angry Angel
Those shows were real staples of my childhood, thank you Mr Murray.
We didn't get our TV until 1963...
But I watched all these shows; my Daughters watched them and finally Grandson watched them as well (on DVD) and he loved them because they were so simple, so calming...although Grandson was most concerned that Windy Miller was giving his extra strong Cider to the good Doctor who then DROVE off to see a patient!
And as for the firemen putting up posters with out using the ladder properly.."There's a serious Health and Safety issue there," said he.
And then when one of the firemen went off to see his Auntie and wasn't there for roll call. "Ah Ha," says Grandson, "They can't do that chant now."
But they did...Brian Cant just left his name out!

RIP Mr Murray, and thankyou.

Sue: I think your Grandson's recollections serves as a perfect tribute! These were shows that were loved by different generations - and I too recited the roll call in my head when I read about Mr Murray's passing. But he lived to a grand old age and that's a good thing in a year when so many have been taken prematurely.

RIP, Mr Murray!
Spaceship Dispatcher
Very sad news, I love the Trumptonshire series.
Reversing the polarity of the neutron flow. I bet that means something. It sounds great.
