Here are a few, a very few, pictures of Brighton Comicon. I didn't seem compelled to take very many photos.
As you can see, it was very quiet!

The queue at Mr D's table, almost far right

I think I took this just before the 11am opening....and still there seemed no rush. But I've just sent a report to Travisina which details something that happened just after this photo...when the powers that be decided to try and make it more exciting!
Also Daughter no. 2 has just phoned.;
Some of the dealers didn't do well at all...Damian reckoned it was something to do with the advertising; his friends up in Northampton didn't even know it was on! And they always attend these events.

The people on duty there, who actually work at the Brighton Centre, were fantastic, especially when 2 ladies of a certain age kept wondering around lost asking where places were...several times!
And the tea was a godsend.
But at least we were able to chat, several times, to Mr D.
And as for his talk....Grin

That quiet! Must have felt strange; Good you managed to protect our hero's actor from
loneliness and boredom.

littlesue and I had such a good time at Brighton. I arrived not long after Sue and we made our way to the signing tables and there our hero was. We were able to talk to him for quite some time. He looked very well and when he was not busy with other fans, we went back to speak to him again. I had brought the 5th book for him to sign and forgot it, picking up a cool photo of Avon, which Paul signed for me. I was talking about my name and distracted him so he did it wrong, then did another pic with the right name, free. It was very kind of him as I would have been happy with the first one. Paul let us take a photo of us with him, you have seen Sue's. I had my book signed later on.

Sue and I wandered round the halls, getting lost and having to ask for directions from the venue staff - they are such a helpful and cheerful lot. I have 3 nice big pictures - I just wish I had a lot more walls in our house. There were not the crowds that we have seen at similar events which meant that the stall holders did not have as many customers. I think there were a lot of other things going on that weekend and the usual suspects were not there. Pity on them!

We went to the talk and got on the front row. The crew put a ramp up to the stage and we joined in the discussion about health & safety & risk management - we could see the ramp would not work. Paul preferred terra firma and instead of stoppng in the aisle as usual, he came and stopped right in front of Sue and I. You can imagine how cool we were - yeah. All the questions were sensible except mine but it didn't matter. Paul was on top form.

We went to the photo shoot and I nearly walked away without my photo, so excited. It was a wonderful day and I just have to say how kind Paul is, witty and a bit naughty too when he says THAT word to Sue. Going round with Sue is great fun and she knows everyone. Met some new nice people too. Looking forward to the next one and hope to go with Sue.

Think two giggly teenagers...especially when those eyes turned in our direction!!!!
And Maureen actually went off to get some tea...leaving us two with only Mr D's minder for company!!!
Darn it, where was that getaway driver when we needed him?
He not only said THAT word to me but also to the young lady who was next after cakeinmilk. She collapsed into helpless laughter. So after Silver and I had Tut Tutted, he said the same word, but with NO in front of it. That lady collapsed with laughter again!!
And thankyou Silver for coming to Brighton....it was great fun!!!
