Sounds like a Terry Dicks special.

I always found it weird that many novelisations were the same length even when the stories weren't.

Malcolm Hulke. He disliked having to cram so much in such a small word count. I think he died not long afterwards.

Dicks co wrote the script but didn't write the book, I always assume its a Dicks novelisation!
