Originally watched this back in the day on a Finlandia 26" CRT television, live broadcast naturally...

Was that colour or black & white?

Thanks for dropping in!

'Twas colour, it must be said. The remote control might have been one of those early sonic ones. Emitted different sounds for each button that was pressed.

Section leader Clegg also in charge of that building site on Auf Vierdershen Pet. Good CV.

I remember those! Also impressed that you are using a Raspberry Pi to watch (even if you did start out with the wrong episode...)

Lol.

BBC1 was very high pitched, BBC2 a little lower if I remember.

Before the coming infra red controls. The Pi is running OSMC. It is just an image you download, I didn't really do anything except find Blakes7 on Youtube. I must buy the DVD set to make ammends.

Yeah, the DVDs have extras, and if you buy through Horizon, you can get them with autographed covers...

He's great in this episode - lovely performance from Michael Keating throughout.

Hooray! Back on the Liberator!

Witty script. Dayna sees the bloke with the knife sticking out of his back. She says "perhaps he was cleaning it and it went off". Actual Lol. And the last line of the episode: Dayna to Villa: "would you rather be a spare part down there"... Avon interjects:"... or one up here". How can a fairly low budget series like B7 be scripted and acted to that standard, and a megabucks film... let's say The Phanotm Menace, be so inferior in those ways, even though it has the worlds best special affets and actors like Ewna McGregor and Liam Neilson ? Who knows.

Anyway, I enjoyed that, will try to be in time next week.

Indeed it was. Can see why he was an audience favourite.

Powerplay is a top-notch episode!

It's because B7 was made on a shoestring budget that they concentrated on characters, scripts and stories rather than fx - and that's why it's stood the test of time, while bigger budget productions are soon forgotten.

Looking forward to having you with us next Saturday for Volcano, but be warned that it's my 3rd-least-favourite episode, which may be reflected in some of my comments!

Thanks Travisina and GC for your kind comments. I've now run a load of well overdue updates, CCleaner, Glary Utilities and Malware Bytes, so fingers crossed for the next one!!
