Valentines

What a wonderful way to celebrates Valentine's Day! I think this thread should be subtitled 'Love letters from a Fandom.'

The talent, the creativity, the enthusiasm and the mix of cynicism and sentiment reflect all the things I love about Blakes7 and its fans. I think 'a bouquet of barbed wire' sums it up.

Thank you all. You are brilliant.

What can I give to the one I love?
Is it flowers, jewelry, or candy?
With you it's none of that- my love-
But I'll keep the oil can handy!

Happy Valentine's Day to the Hugbot

Grin Grin Grin Great! Oops

Sorry for not commenting on this thread, but I am still having to catch up after some rather stressful weeks. I have to admit that at first, I had been rather sceptical about the idea of a Valentine thread, but all the contributions are just marvellous. It is really great to be a part of this wonderfully creative gang! (You can take that as my Valentine message to all of you. Wink)

Happy Valentine Day to you all!

I’m sending the Golden Valentine Key to the hearts of all in our fandom involved and virtually to all our beloved characters’ hearts.

(I wonder if one assumed “cold heart” will be opened by this. “Try greed. It's usually reliable.” he once said so at least it might attract his attention…)

(The Saint Valentine’s Key is the traditional charm, named after Saint Valentine the patron saint not only of love and marriage, but who also protects against fainting, epilepsy and other seizure disorders.)

I’ve loved Paula’s Valentine messages for the most unlikely of suspects, so I’ve had a little (probably not very good) go myself:

Some may be put off by your albino looks
And some by the gout in your knee
But for me, my sweet Valentine
You’re the only one they’ll ever be
One day we’ll rule the dome together
I know we’ll have such luck
They’ll talk behind our backs
But frankly I don’t give a… sausage

Be mine forever, my blond stallion
My dearest Dev, love from M

Not B7, but Shakespeare said it best. (What a surprise).
Happy Valentine's day, all.

Sonnet CXVI
Let me not to the marriage of true minds
Admit impediments. Love is not love
Which alters when it alteration finds,
Or bends with the remover to remove:
O, no! it is an ever-fixed mark,
That looks on tempests and is never shaken;
It is the star to every wandering bark,
Whose worth's unknown, although his height be taken.
Love's not Time's fool, though rosy lips and cheeks
Within his bending sickle's compass come;
Love alters not with his brief hours and weeks,
But bears it out even to the edge of doom.
If this be error and upon me proved,
I never writ, nor no man ever loved.

Brad that's my favourite sonnet by Shakespeare. It's actually quite B7 because some people read it as Shakespeare cynically arguing that the circumstances he's outlining for true love are impossible to achieve! I prefer a romantic interpretation but I can imagine Avon cynically reciting it as proof that 'no man ever loved."

And Lurena thanks for the key to love and happiness.

Trevor further proof that even the absolutely despicable long for love!
Just because I can't sing doesn't mean I won't.

Loved your poem, Lurena. *wink* Grin

Many thanks to everyone that has contributed to this thread. As it's now the 15th, this thread is now closed but the February fanfic challenge and the artwork fanfic challenge are both still open until the end of the month!

Reversing the polarity of the neutron flow. I bet that means something. It sounds great.
