Thank You BIG FINISH for being so kind to us here on Horizon and giving us this little treat. We love you all the more for it.

I always pre order the B7 range & we have all waited so long for LC 12, I'm so excited that it will finally be with us soon.

Well finally The Liberator Chronicles Volume 12 arrived.

My initial first thoughts as brief as I can be without spoilers and to give everyone a chance to listen to them is:
12.1 Corners Of The Mind: An Enjoyable Avon tale.
12.2 Capital: Mr Pacey does a great job but the story didn't do much for me and seemed a bit of a filla.
12.3 Punishment: I had mixed feelings about the Vila's dad side of the story but overall, it was actually a great tale and my strong advice is to listen to 12.2 and 12.3 back to back. There really part of the same story but told from the point of view of the main characters (Tarrant and Vila).

My only critic is that it's a shame for the final Liberator Chronicles stories, they couldn't have gotten Avon's voice for all parts on all the audio's. On 12.2 there were only single lines for example. Surely those could have been recorded while recording 12.1. But for whatever reason it's not to be. Still the LC's have always been more about stories told through the voice of a particular character and were never declared to be full cast.

There not the best stories in the LC's but there worthy additions and my biggest gripe of all is that this will be the last LC's set ever.

It's been a blast while it's lasted and I only hope that what comes next can have a nice regular release date pattern like these and the full cast series.

As sad as this is to suggest, the new stories may only be able to focus around Season 3 and 4 mainly, without the immortal Gareth Thomas. I can't think of anyone that could replace him for the productions. Orac I've been pleased with as Alistair Lock. But for Blake, well the Welsh accent is a surprisingly hard one to emulate and Gareth had a unique instantly recognisable vocal delivery.
