Which Episode Wouldn't You Miss?

TT whilst I agree with a lot of your reasonings, isn't it odd that they set course for Earth at end of Season A but in Shadow are doing something entirely different? Also, Bounty is a very boring episode and adds nothing to the overall storyline and would be better culled than Mission to Destiny (which shows Blake being fanatical when he rigs the entrylock on the door and is just a lovely episode to keep) I agree that The Web should be kept in terms of balance (shows Blake's compassionate side) but also showcases the Cally/Avon relationship. Oh the delight, the intrigue!!.

I guess it is an oddity, although Shadow follows on from Redemption in the original order as well Grin

I guess it just means my Season B starts off some time after Season A - maybe a few months down the lane.

The only alternative is to follow "Redemption" with "Pressure Point". But that causes a headache, because Shadow, Weapon and Horizon must come after "Redemption" (they have Orac) but before "Pressure Point" (they have Gan).

It is possible to move around the non-Travis and non-Servalan stories of Season A to early Season B. Orac is not in them... but there's an easy solution to that... he simply isn't consulted during them. There are other episodes of B7 without Orac.

Another alternative is to have "Mission To Destiny" in place of "Bounty" as the fourth episode of Season B.

Although I'm not sure if "Mission To Destiny" fits there either - Season B is very much the Blake vs Federation season, it doesn't allow for flights of fancy in the same way that either Season A or Season C did.

IMO "Bounty" is the better fit for that slot.

Or you could pitch "Mission To Destiny" as the pilot for an entirely different series.... "Avon Investigates", in which a certain computer expert goes around the galaxy solving crimes with the help of his three sidekicks, Meegat, Littlesue and Lurena Grin

How age-ist. Avon is in obvious need of a granny to accompany him. " Now Avon, you don't really want to shoot your little friend...put the gun down!" "Avon what's with all the leather and studs? How about a nice silk shirt?" See what I mean. And I'm very wiling to volunteer for the role. I would be a Miss Marple to his Sherlock.

So when does this show go into production?

And we now have 4 sidekicks...anyone else???

BTW, I'm still pondering which episodes to drop. This is very difficult indeed.

Annie, you're down to become one of "Avon's Angels" in the second series, after Littlesue goes off and marries Lee Majors. Wink Grin

So, I did a bit of thinking about why I picked what I picked.

The Web-because even though it has background to Cally, that never goes anywhere series wise so I don't think it matters. Mission to Destiny has that flaw too, but it's more compelling &'would hook a viewing audience. Assuming Im a big time studio exec.

I'm changing Horizon. I'll cull Hostage instead. Horizon had some good insight into Avon's character and how the Federatiin operates and exploits. Hostage-not much info you couldn't put together from other episodes.

The Harvest of Kairos. I'm a petty narcissistic TV exec who just hates that whole episode. I hate the effects. I hate the dialog. I loathe Jarvik. Frankly, I don't even like the title. And since when is Tarrant in charge?

Assassin. It's just comes across as another Avon vs. Servalan for the sake of episode count. I liked it, but it's not needed.

Wow. this is a great thread.

Sue, you also get your own hairstyle, with millions of women wanting "Sue Hair" Wink

Ooh TT I'd like being an angel but it may be a bit energetic for this Old Gal. I see myself in a sort of female Charley role - a bit like Judy Dench's M.

And even for 6 million - you cannot pair Sue with Lee Majors! He's bionic but no Travis.
The iconic hairstyle is tempting but ----no!!!

Back in the day, my friend Julie used to be Mr Waverly to Debbie and me being Napoleon Solo amd Illya (I had blonde hair back then) and she used to sit on my porch, behind my roll top desk, doing very important things like yelling out 'Watch out, those evil Thrush agents are lurking behind Mr Harbut's car!'
She also used to count down the number of minutes before we could get back up after being 'shot', to carry on our mission.
Heady days indeed.
Anniew, you could be hand when our Boss gets hurt...or his hair wants tidying. And, of course, someone will need to watch over that black shirt...........................
Hang on, you're getting to do all the good stuff!!!!Grin

S1 - Very difficult season 1 is so consistently good.. but.. Orac... (weakest episode in S1, yes yes I know it's 'good' and its final 5 minutes were key to then watch Season 2) But effectively see it again in Redemption and tack a few scenes onto Deliverance (missing out on the naff joke at the end) I don't think anyone would notice Orac's absence... Pfft
S2 - difficult.. Possibly Terminal... or Maybe Voice from the Past even though I enjoy it.... But taking into account overall sense of Plot Arc.. VftP gets the boot. shame though.
S3 - Easy Children of Auron... At least Dawn of the Gods and Volcano have some great Vila moments... Also completelt destroyed my visions of the Auronaar upon first watching.. Servalan does some very illogical things (IMO) Overall episode just doesn't make sense and jars badly with rest of the series.
S4 - Easy, Stardrive... poorly cut episode although it does advance plot arc... But painful to watch.. Although love the line "sweats regular".. I'd rather lose that than not see Avon slipping on Og poo in Animals! Maybe Dorian already acquired the Photonic drive explained in a few lines (replace some dialogue in Power or something similar!)

PS, you're going to get told off by Travisina in the same way I was told off... for editing the existing episodes Grin

Plus, I'm sure it's an accident, but you've got Terminal in the wrong season Wink

Ignoring any plot device or arc significance:

Series A - Bounty: Not much happens, it's oh-so-obvious Jenna hasn't switched sides and Lindor really doesn't seem to be a planet worth saving.

Series B - Gambit: Despite Aubrey Woods' delicious turn as Krantor, I never warmed to this episode. Think I felt the Regency era-style of headgear a little silly.

Series C - Deathwatch: Dull episode. One of two I can't watch all the way through.

Series D - Traitor: Even worse. Not even Servalan's resurrection can save it.
