Rewatch Oz - Dr Who: The Underwater Menace

The girl companion taking a fall/getting captured starts the adventure again! The cast felt this one was a bit clichéd...
Reversing the polarity of the neutron flow. I bet that means something. It sounds great.

Polly looks lovely in her gear from "The Highlanders". She's terrific in that story, winding Ffinch around her little finger.

Yes, it would probably be my favourite Polly costume if we had a surviving episode...

Polly was wrong. It's definitely not Cornwall. In fact, "Definitely Not Cornwall" could be the episode title. It's either Dorset (in the real world) or a island in the Atlantic (fiction).

Polly is a little bit "damsel in distress" in this one.

Jaime is a different kind of dumb in his early episodes.

What's a submariner? Can't explain now...

The problem with historical companions, if only in their first few stories. Eventually you can cover the lack of personal knowledge with the 'learnt it on my travels' ploy...

Polly is quite smart at working out the date. It's after 1968.. the Mexican Olympics.

In their defense, Hines was never supposed to make it past the Highlanders so they had to scramble to fit him into the next couple of stories

Eating scenes were quite rare and welcome when worked into the stories, but that one feels a bit odd because it's so out of the blue.

They don't need defending, it wasn't a criticism; just an observation on the extra level of development that historical characters need in time travel fiction that visits the present day.

Part 1 does take a while to get going. I don't think it's just the lack of live action. We need Zaroff!
