Oh Lurena....he looks so lovely when deep in thought like that...I'm afraid I failed my Maths 'O' level. so I am stumped! (Nothing unusual there then!!!)
Cold.....you don't know the meaning of cold.
Cold is when you have ice on the INSIDE of the window!!!

And another beautiful story by Annie ... Atomicmayo's picture is really a great source of inspiration! (Maybe we should also have a picture prompt in the fanfic challenges?)

Lurena, that is a very unusual and interesting puzzle. The meaning of the formula is obviously, 'Why is the log of Christmas divided by R2?' The only problem is that I can't think of a Christmas tradition where a Yule log is cut up by Star Wars droids ... maybe my solution is not the right one after all ...

Two more beautiful and moving stories by Anniew.
Atomicmayo, your gorgeous picture has really proved to be an inspiration!

@Hugbot - that's a good idea, having a picture prompt for some of the fanfic challenges. I'm not sure about the practical implications, but will discuss this with Purplecleric.

Meanwhile, with only 1.5 days to go, I'm desperately trying to get my second ficlet written for December. I've managed to do two every month and don't want to fall at the final hurdle!

R2 didn't cross my mind Hugbot, nor did it Avon's as he would not know about the Star Wars universe at all. Or does he?
Just work out the equation.Unsure

I would love to volunteer for the picture prompt. It's a nice idea!

@Littlesue, you know my preference for "Avon-at-work" and I'm glad I pleased you with that screenshot.

I managed to do my two by December 24th - I've been sweating some months, but not this one!!

Resolutions for 2016 - finish the Soolin fic, so the poor woman isn't left on death's door for any longer, plus visit Slave's Cave Grin

PS Very festive message from Avon, Lurena - I return the compliments of the season.

Travisina
*phew, just made it!*

Resolutions for 2016 - don't leave ficlets to the last minute, keep within word limit, get Jenna story written... (after all, it's only been a rough draft for 3 years).

@Lurena - sorry, I used to be good at algebra at school, but I have no idea what that formula is. Please put me out of my misery?!

For those struggling with the maths, r squared could also be written as rr, and from thereon in, it's almost an anagram.

TT - once again the Luke is more baffling than the original problem. Lurena I loved the picture but the maths blows my mind!

Travisina I love the present from the furniture! Surreal! And then it morphs into something very disquieting. Great story telling. And thank you for your weekly brilliant round ups. I look forward to them and the great pics that accompany them. I promise I will try and keep my stories to 500 words.

PC wonderful challenges ! Would also like picture prompts. Thank you!

Happy New Year Everyone!

Bloomin' auto correct. And I posted BEFORE my glass of salted caramel baileys! I think my relationship with it is like Vila's and the teleport. It's determined to trip me up!

I'm so glad you made it Travisina, a great last-minute story! Thank you!

And thank you all who contributed. I have not even read them all. So many different items to enjoy and I am still busy catching up.

Now here is the solution of the maths puzzle:

There's a bit of a back story to that line. Years & decades ago, one of the chaps in the NorthWest B7 group wrote his own novelisations of some of the episodes, which he produced as printed zines. Can't remember his name, might have been Gary something. It was a noble effort, but they contained some hilarious typos, one of which was in his novelisation of 'Mission to Destiny', where he had Dr Kendall say:

"...it's bankrupted our economy and mortgaged our furniture."

That typo surfaced in my memory while I was drafting the ficlet and made me giggle again, so I wrote it into the story. Smile

Oh...that made me laugh! Good job I didn't have a glass of plonk in my hand...as per PC's suggestion about left fields!!!!

BTW Travisina...a lovely little story on which to finish this great creative year.

Lovely story Travisina! and great puzzle Lurena. I thought the answer would be Merry Xmas but had no idea how to arrive at this!

Lurena the explanation leaves me as baffled as the puzzle .❤️❤️❤️
