That was a cracking trilogy.

House Of Cards was brilliant, but To Play The King and The Final Cut were rather good as well.

Interesting continuity, because I think Urquhart was killed in each book, but only in The Final Cut on TV.

Absolutely loved House of Cards. Ian Richardson was outstanding in it. Can't be bothered with the American version.

Spotted Stephen Greif in 'Bill', the Shakespeare comedy by the Horrible Histories/Yonderland team. Have to say I didn't recognise him, only saw his name in the credits. He played an adviser to the King of Spain, had one line and a few nice reaction shots.

Viktor Ritelis, director of "Warlord", spoken about in a featurette about "The Lotus Eaters" and hosting a 'Making of' type feature on "Secret Army".

"Secret Army" is also notable for having large roles for Juliet Hammond-Hill and Valentine Dyall. In fact - and I'd have to go back and refresh my memory on this point - but I think Juliet Hammond-Hill got the role in Secret Army after she was seen in "Power" (or vice versa?).

I think Secret Army came first.

Anyhow, spotted a veritable smorgasbord of B7 guest stars on today's episode of The Avengers which was entitled Legacy of Death. Ronald Lacey, Stratford Johns and Richard Hurndall all featured - is it significant that the episode was also written by a Mr. T.Nation I wonder?

Correct me if I'm wrong but it looks like a Blake's 7 jigsaw puzzle with a picture of the Libby flight deck (and a picture of Tarrant inset?)

My husband suggested tweeting this as:
'Blakes 7 back on the BBC!'

We've got that puzzle, with a couple of pieces missing. In fact, most people I know who have it are missing a couple of pieces. Have you got a complete one, littlesue?

Has anyone made a GIF of that scene from Little Britain when Paul Darrow is vomited on?

Oh and I know I'm 9 months late but here's Pacey in Humans.

I recorded a few of the Hammer Horrors on the Horror channel over Christmas (as the descriptions didnt say which episodes they were) and have finally gotten round to checking if any are the one with Paul Darrow in - and one is! I tend to avoid Horror as it's not a genre I like, but I thought I'd try this if I could catch it and I'm pleased with how unscary I found it.
I'm surprised how many other people I'm recognising in it, too - not other B7 actors, though. (But there's one woman who's in an episode of Star Trek TNG, another in Four Weddings and a Funeral, and another from a couple of episodes of Sharpe)

Quite conflicted about Sharpe. This one is very well done with enjoyable actors, but long extended scenes of quite disturbing physical violence (men beating each other up). Maybe some folks enjoy watching that - ewwww, not here.

Have seen other Sharpe DVDs for ca.2 in local DVD store. Can anyone who remembers this Sharpe series from 1990's recommend (or disrecommend) S1/S2/etc of Sharpe?

I felt on the whole Sharpe isn't very violent/bloody, considering it's a war series.
Personally I find the episodes vary greatly in enjoyability - I LOVE Sharpe, but there are some episodes I absolutely loathe. I recommend it highly, though - the ones made in the 90s. It was revived recently for a couple of episodes with Sean Bean still in the title role, but it didn't feel the same to me. Best episodes in my opinion are Rifles to Enemy, Sword, and Siege (episodes 1-4, 8, and 10). This selection is personal taste, although I found Gold (ep6) felt VERY un-Sharpe in feeling, and I found that book lacking, too. The others that I dislike are due mostly to the plots (I prefer action to politics as Sharpe doesn't do well up against most officers), and vile characters that I can't enjoy disliking - I can't fault the acting, cast, or writing.
There's also a bonus of playing spot the people in Sharpe, as you've already found - more famous examples include Daniel Craig, Mark Strong, Philip Glennister and James Purefoy.

Wow Twizzle, thanks so much for the Sharpe recommendations!
Alas, the store that had Sharpe DVDs on for 2 each closed down a few weeks ago. But from your info a list can be made to hunt for them in 2nd-hand shops... yet another excuse to browse in 2nd-hand shops (yay!).
