Joe, you could write rhyming couplets for Rupert the Bear.
"We're in the centre of a mystical convergence here."

Joe Dredd
'Nonsense, nonsense,' Rupert said.
'If he wrote for me I'd be filled with Dredd.'

"Au contraire!" Said One spare part,
"The only Dredd is if you......"
Mmmm, it's difficult this rhyming business...
"We're in the centre of a mystical convergence here."

Just a quick note to say how much I'm enjoying this thread - JD, the pics and clips are brilliant, as are the replies.

...find yourself stuck for a rhyme and have to ask Edward Trunk, dear heart.

Thanks T. As long as I'm not intimidating anyone by making them think all 'spotted' posts have to be documented like this. Hopefully too the pictures aren't too big - I notice if you enlarge the more recent photos with a click, you can click on them again to get a super-enormous view.

I was intending to do one show a day in December as a parallel to our Advent thread but the best laid plans of mice and Dredds and all that...!

Joe your posts are making me laugh big style
More than I have done for a while
(Thanks, Edward)

Can't resist, sorry in advance...

"I says, "Pig Pen, this here's the Rubber Duck.
"We just ain't a-gonna pay no toll."
So we crashed the gate doing ninety-eight
I says "Let them truckers roll, 10-4."

And now I'm stuck with the chorus to 'Convoy' going through my head! Grin Whatever happened to CB radio, I wonder? Is it still in use?

Completely off topic, but I can't resist either to tell you that in German, a rubber duckie is a 'Quietscheentchen'. Lovely word, isn't it?

This thread has been a splendid treat

Ah... blow. Too tired to find a rhyme. Just thank you for the laughs.

But Hugbot, whoever coined the German for rubber ducky, obviously had never been given one with a squeak. They’re hardly QUIETscheentchen.
Just because I can't sing doesn't mean I won't.

Joe Dredd, I challenge you to do a rhyming couplet featuring Huggie's 'Quietscheentchen'!

A little yellow quietscheentchen
sailed in the tub, easing my tension.

"Lock the door," I ordered Zen
and leaned back to watch the luftblasen.

I love long German-assembly-line words!
My parents used to have a spoof German dictionary. I can't remember most of it, but a dog was a 'barkenpantensniffer' and a dog-catcher was a 'barkenpantensniffensnatcher' !

I love it! That's so much better than the Dutch "Badeendje" Huggy!
I need to spare you the Dutch meaning of the word "rubber" (often in the sense of a slang word), as we have a family forum here!
