Peladon, I couldn't agree with you...less! Ah well.
Just because I can't sing doesn't mean I won't.

Harry Sullivan is an imbecile, five rounds rapid...enjoyed it very much, a return to form, best story so far.

After reading your post Peledon I have come to the conclusion that I must be viewing a TV broadcast from an alternate dimension, as it has no resemblance to the one you have described
What I do I do without choice and to save time

I feel like I'm in that universe with him a lot of the time, BUT I'll be skipping the Viking story and watching these two tonight.

I have that feeling, too Grin This series was exceptional so far. I think I was a bit disappointed only in the first part of the Zygon story but this one turned out to be one of the best stories since...Mummy on the Orient Express? I loved it. Also, Peter is just...absolutely amazing. The war speech was, I think, one of the best scenes ever - and I *hated* when Matt Smith´s Doctor made speeches but I suppose Peter is just... better Shock
But also Jenna was great in it, their acting interaction is one of the best thing in Series 8 and 9.

Osgood bugs me, in the same way Silurian woman and the high pitched woman from Victorian times do. That's not a problem with the plot, just my preference.

Please stop with the child actors.

Why does the Doctor keep calling Clara? He doesn't need her.

This is so heavy handed it's getting annoying. I feel like I'm being beat over the head.

That soldiers mother can't act. Some of the accents are not good.

Why does anyone take orders from Clara?

How is it the Zygons from the 70's look better? I prefer the Zygon technology designs from that episode too.

What did I like about the episode? I'll get back to you. Sorry SD.... um the plot had interesting elements? Could have been Alien Nation or Invasion of the Body Snatchers, but didn't quite get there for me.

I realise that, tried to be too much and I thought it lacked focus. Watching Inversion now.

Evil Clara has even less personality. How was Osgood able to figure all that out about the text message?

How come Clara is the only one strong enough to affect her Zygon counterpart?

Why does Clara have access to anything? Thats dumb. SHE's JUST A TEACHER! This plot hangs on Clara and I'm just not buying it. Also not a strong enough character or actress to pull it off. Maybe I need to see Jenna in something else?

Brig's Daughter thinks and acts like a soldier, ummmmmm? And carries a gun, what is she? Not a very good scientific adviser. She's a bit cold blooded in this. Kate is the worst.

So if there's two Osgood's why can't one go traveling? Um don't answer that.

The liked the speech, well more the performance of it, because it was heavy handed.

I give up. NuWho could present the best-ever piece of television in the 21st century and GC would still hate it. OopsGrinGrin

When people make comments about it being back to classic DW I am sure I'm in an alternative reality. I’ve watched a few from the earlier years (Troughton, Tom Baker,Jon Pertwee, Peter Davidson) with nephews over the last couple of years and they don’t seem similar to me at all.

I thought last weeks better because it had pace, wasn’t predicated on the ‘specialness’ of Clara and avoided moralistic posturing. But I wouldnt hace said it was great. This one had all the earlier failings in spades..

But hey people like what they like. And remember I’m not a ‘fan’. Personally I dont like melodrama, I don’t enjoy wallowing in pointless and unbelievable angst (oh the Dr is sooo evil and tortured- why?). He doesn’t like war – well no sane person does. I dont like heavy handed moralistic rants, even from those who understand the difference between war with an agressor (and they don’t come much more aggressive than the daleks) and revolution on behalf of the few, which the writers clearly didn’t. Capaldi made them about as good as they could be but they were still well and truly OTT. I also have problems with a character being used as a plot device in a totally unrealistic manner.

Avon is used as a plot device of course but always consistently and never in a manner that is unrealistic – though it might give you to wonder about his background - but the terrible Clara’s specialness is not all believable. Nor incidentally, IMO, is the Capaldi Dr’s apparent relationship with her or his reliance on her.

Peladon, while at least you're a fan of two DW stories... well I assume, you're a fan of Curse Of Peladon and (shudders) Monster Of Peladon in any case Wink

No, I was given the name Peladon for another purpose by someone else and liked the sound of it. Thats all.

I kinda liked the base under siege story from a few weeks ago. That's all though.

I hadn't watched New Who for a month (still haven't seen the Viking-ish double) but friends kept bugging me to watch this. So I did and it's not for me.

Della is begging me to stop watching it, because I just become so cranky and upset, or to at least get drunk first.

Glad you all enjoyed it though.

But half the fun on here is that we all have different opinions.

It would be boring if we all agreed WinkPfft

It is all Doctor Who to me, new or old, it is still DW. This one is just more adapted for modern audiences. If DW didn´t have the 16 years gap and kept running through the 90s, it would eventually change into what it is today, I think.

I'm no expert, got C's in psych class, but I'm pretty sure there's more than one crazy on this board, and Mister Flibble agrees with me.
